Yes, bring another one "CCP I want WIS just like in SC, so I could play another game while playing EVE without toggling windows" thread.
You will not get it in foreseeable future. When weapons, technology, and economies mature faster than the leadership culture entrusted with them, disaster ensues. http://i.minus.com/ibeZ0sJewvDMBN.gif |

Oh shut up. If you can't add to the discussion, either pro or con, shut your fat face.

Just like Eve in that you never have to undock, you never have to exit your pod into station. On top of that: Add crew training to the game. All of our ships do have crews, but we never see them and never interact with them. Just bringing another window with timers and numbers on it is just lazy, let us manage this in person and build barracks or simulators for it and actually see these things in person. Why not allow capsuleers the ability to have a crew training program where they can train the crew and then sell the crew contract to others? Allow it for better cap or shield recharge, etc. Same thing with body guards and mercenaries for while walking around stations. The limits are endless. Not to mention that mechanics like this would take Eve further away from a niche market and appeal to a HUGE array of gamers, thus bringing in a lot more revenue. On top of this, more people would actually buy the in-game apparel items. They do it in other MMOs, they'll do it in Eve too if you provide an environment to show them off in.
So how would non-consensual PvP work in the station if you dont have to leave your pod?
Crew training means having to actually interac with the normies. If I can beat them and demand they worship me as the Goddess I am, then this idea might have merit. Or at least appeal to me. Also; sell the crew. I like it.
Could we also scoop crew from vanquished foes that I can hand in to Blood Raider outposts for LP?
Why have NPC Bodyguard and Mercs? Your idea would allow Merc corps to extend their services to the toilets and lounges of the stations. Also, "Can I see your Hall Pass Permit?" the possibilities are intriguing now that you mention them.
"mechanics like this would take Eve further away from a niche market and appeal to a HUGE array of gamers" - This however is abhorrent to me and I no want. I would fight this as hard as I could, Im afraid.
In regards to apparell, those of us who recognise an MMORPG as an.... er MMORPG already do wear appropriate clothing to our characters and take thoguht over designing them, it wont make those who hate "space-barbies" and "RP-***s" buy shoez though.
And it wont make me want to spend real money or isk I cannot afford on $300 shoez either "A naughty sarcastic nun that's come to whip me with a ruler." - Domanique Altares "If someone doesn't appreciate your presence, make them appreciate your absence." - Anon. |

It's the same way that it is now. If you don't want to participate in PvP that involves loss of ship in Eve, then don't undock. If you don't want to participate in PvP in station that involves loss of clone (or other things), then don't leave your pod.

I don't see why not.

To provide a way to protect yourself using non-capsuleers (and non-DUST mercenaries) using normal NPCs. I just saw it as a way to get around having to pay an inordinate sum of money to an actual merc corp to defend you in a high-sec station against possible robberies and muggings. It would just provide a bit of protection, much like adding a shield booster on your badger carrying something through high sec.

There's not much you can do about it if you add these kinds of features, it just attracts more crowds. On top of that, they're going to have to fund this game in some manner. I'd rather not pay 5-10$ extra per month just to have this content, so I don't see what else you could do.
If you just ignore the typical WoW players, it really isn't that bad...

attracting different crowds and different types of gamers will result in more people buying it though. I'm sure that people who have found out that CQ is useless right now and didn't bother to do anything with their avatars would feel the same way, though.

Thanks.
At this point, with all of the discussion on the forums that took place since 2011 about WiS and everything that had happened in the mean time, a thread like this can only be classified as trolling. I simply can not believe that you are genuinely not informed about the state, plans and reason behind the current situation with WiS because all the answers about WiS are just one search away - web or forum. If that is the case, then Im afraid Im entirely against WiS.

I am not in favour of ambulation unless it comes with considerable game enhancing content, which is, to put it mildly, unlikely to happen.
However, it does amuse me that CCP make Barbie clothing items available which are utterly pointless as no one (apart from the owner of the character) can really see a character in all its Barbie glory.

Thanks. While I'd love to have WiS, I don't have any faith whatsoever in CCP being able to code it. Not after reading that Guardian article. If anything, I hope they tackle sov system next, because it is the area where damage done would affect me the least, and I'd get to enjoy loads of tears from nullsec residents.
