Edited by: Kadrush on 10/06/2006 21:24:31 Ok so know you bought you shining thorax and fit a 1600 titanium armor on it, therefore your ship have a skin of 1.6meters all over the ship (no weak points). But almost every ship have windows, and they are not made of titanium or any other armor material so windows are very thin areas of the ship with a very fragile material ofering weak points.
Of course I am not asking CCP to take ship windows in consideration but if one day humankind make real spaceships to fight out there they are probabily not going to have windows.

How do we know eve windows are weak. They could be uber strong meter thick diamond for all we know.

Edited by: Kadrush on 10/06/2006 21:29:40 Wide windows create a distortion to the light, you can¦t see trough
Anyway I was thinking about future real life combat spaceships
The shield teory is absurd, in the future our hipothetical ships are going to depend on armor and nothing else.

Um I have a working nano-optical shield emitter in my garage dude.
I made it my self from a few RadioShack visits.. It's a little weak right now, but all I need a ride to Home Depot to replace some of the weaker parts.
Shields are here to stay. I'm just waiting for my patent to come through.

without my nano-optical shields, you wont even have time to engage your warp-drive.

You know a Thorax is something like 400-500 meters long? The armor won't be that think compared to the "thickness" of the ship.

Heh sweet, I created a phased plasma nano electric photon emitting reverse phased neutron saturation unit too.
It's in my Garage too! It does naff all, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to work it, but when you turn it on it gets hot enough to cook a full english on, so i'm happeh

Maybe you should invest in my phased otpical matter inversion to boost the sheild.

I actually saw on the news today where they were talking about shields for tanks/soldiers/etc. in Iraq. Said it was a real "force-field" that went around whatever you were trying to protect. They acted like it wasn't that far away from being implemented.

Oh come on, someone fire a missile on a tank and the driver turns to one of his crew members and says
"Tuvok SHIELD¦S UP!!!" "Aye, aye sir, should I fire the photon torpedoes now?" "No, just phasers, target their life support" "Sir, they dont need life support, WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A FOREST" "What? dammed borgs..."

Too bad ts not actually a "force-field". Its just a small radar system that tracks incoming RPGs and fires a small round out at them to blow them up before they hit the tank. I don't know why they're hyping it up to be a "force-field" when it is nothing like one.
