I've seen a lot of people use dual rep on frigates, and I don't get why people do that when it can't be run for even few cycles before cap dries out. I do understand if u have cap boosters it works, but is it really good enough to be throwing away one damage mod?
I mostly fight in FW space, if that means anything. |

My Nooblet. Come to real pvp not FW. My dual rep incursus rocks! And yes I use a cap booster. I cycle my main repper and pulse the AAR when needed or run both if taking a beating. Damage mod uses more cap than repper! BTW |

Because of the lack of a web only bads die to a dual rep incursus. However, there are a lot of bads out there.
More importantly fitting your ship in a way that's only effective against bads means you're one of them, so I advise against it. |

Dual rep incursus has its pros and cons. One of its pros is mainly its staying power. In a solo fight if the enemy doesn't have enough DPS the incursus can perma tank him until he runs out of charges. Of course doing that means he sacrifices range control so anyone with a web will scram kite him. Kiters are 50/50 against incursus some dual rep us MWD instead of AB to catch kiting ships. |

Just re-iterating Garviels point, Dual rep frigates are basically free kills for anyone with a basic understanding of the dual rep ship they are fighting. At best they may survive till mates turn up but they certainly can't control a fight and without that control you are going to miss many many kills and probably die a lot in the process. |

Yeah. They are a lot of fun to fly but in the end you can't control the range for crap, which in a blaster ship means you're doing nothing to the enemy.
You can actually fit them with a web and hope the other guy doesn't notice they are not pointed. That's kind of hilarious to do and happens surprisingly often. But in the end, while they are great fun to fly and soak up damage, they are not going to kill too many people once they figure them out.
I do kind of love them, but Garviel and Christine nail it. Not the most effective Incursus fit. |

Remember folks, you can't tank an enemy ship to death. Sacrificing DPS/mobility/etc. for more tank really only helps if you're playing bait, or engaging easy targets.
Dual reps can work on a battleship and some battlecruisers because you can do it without giving up too much. Cruisers are questionable; it depends on the ship and the situation. But frigates? Every slot counts, you can't waste any. Reading Comprehension: a skill so important it deserves it's own skillbook.

Dual rep Incursus has it's merits sometimes (mostly as bait) but it's without a doubt crappy fit. However not all dual rep frigs are crap, the Astero for example, is a great ship to fit dual rep, it has 4 mids so it doesn't have to sacrifice tackle to have a cap booster, it's dps is low so outlasting your enemies is important and the resist bonus gives it a good enough buffer against against alpha. |

Dual Rep Incurses are probably a lot better outside of Lowsec plex duels where every brawl won't be up against a scram/web/AB fit frigate and you can do things like camp a drag bubble to pull random idiots into your engagement range in ships that do not want to be there at all. |

Well inside the drag bubble the tank won't really matter seeing how there always seems to be a falcon there jamming you.

After you've been dealing with them for 5 years people in your gang dont even need to be told: The Falcon dies, no exceptions. It's like a curse... Always first to die. |

They seem to have died down a bit after people started realizing they were the Eve equivalent of taking a hooker to your school reunion.
The last time I got Falcon-dropped in lowsec the idiots were such bads they couldn't actually kill me even jammed. Ironically I think I was in a dualrep incursus at the time. |
