Either your videocard is overheating or broken.

That memory corruption, either you card is far too hot, EG 70C+ or your mem is broken.

I've got a GF6800 GT which advertises that you can safely overclock the card to the speed of the best in the line. When I do so thats what happens after 10 minutes. Not sure if that helps but if you have overclocked the proc or mem maybe try stepping it back to the safe settings.

I had the same problem. May be it's because your graphic card become to hot. Clean all heat exchangers of your graphic card.

Check the zbuffer settings in game, adjust those.... I'm not sure this is your problem but the shearing is often seen in zbuffer settings that your card doesn't like...if not that prolly overheating, try popping yer case open and aiming a small table fan towards it, if this fixes it then I suggest getting a new GPU fan for yer vid card...else no clue

Undust your vid card... when overheating ;) But these are artifacts aka particals... this occurs when a vid card is overheating or die-ing.

I sometimes get that, but when it happens to me it's definitely not only in EVE (I get it from the start of windows (after the bios etc is loaded but before I log on) and I have to restart the computer to fix it).
I suspect that some hardware is broken, because sometimes my computer just dies (monitor goes black) and I have to press the reset button to make it respond.

What kind/size of a power supply do you have? it could be your power supply isn't able to pump out enough power.
Another little thing, check your Monitors data cable. See if any animals in the house have been chewing on it, or if it's kinked behind something.
And last, check the connections for the monitor... could be loose.

ATI Radeon 9800 Pro. 3 years old. I think my card is dying. When I first boot up things are fine but once I launch EVE... we'll you know. No problems though... new one coming tomorrow. Needed to upgrade anyway. Power supply 460W so that shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for the replies.

That's exactly the same card as I have. I believe they have problems with those cards, they seemed to get off the shelves and stay off fairly quickly over here.

another thing can be that your screen settings for eve dont match the monitor capabilities.
CRT Monitors: 1024 x 768 @ 85 HZ = (768x85) ~ 66 khz or: 1280 x 1024 @ 120 HZ = (1024x120) ~ 123 khz
calculate if your monitor has the khz needed for your setting.
if you use a tft its not that sort of problem. i bet its your graphics card overheating...

I used to get that when playing Eve with my previous set of drivers on my 9800pro, but ONLY after I had run the Hauppauge WinTV 2000 program (software for my TV tuner) and then closed it. Restarting fixed the problem, and now updating my drivers to Radeon Omega version 3.8.231 has removed the problem altogether. So maybe you could try seeing if the problem still persists when you do different things before running Eve. |

I have already tried everything mentioned here. EVE has done fine for the past 6 months. May the ATI rest in peace. *bows head*

The fan on the ati 9800 pro was crap it works for some time then dies. I took the fan right off the heatsink and put a hight rpm P3 cpu fan on it and it worked grate after. You can buy new heatsinks for the card aswhell for rather cheep. When the card over heats you get all kinds of wird distortions or even a BSOD. If if hasnt melted it self to dead already a new heatsink sould fix the card.

I saw it two weekends ago on my old laptop. One day day later it refused to come out of standby or boot up from cold. Now it gets the display into text mode..and nothing else. Not even a "Welcome to Acer". -- (Battle hardened miner)
