Lowsec sec hit should be significantly lowered. It will encourage pvp. It's lowsec, punishment for shooting shouldn't be as severe as it is. Especially pod kills, if you get your pod caught in lowsec somehow, you deserve it. Lowsec pvp should be more sanctioned.
Highsec gcc sec hit should be significantly increased, possibly insta -10 for successful ganks, plus concord spawn instead of faction police for criminal status. Push and keep easy target into lowsec will bring life to it. |

Can you explain your reasoning why?
Why does my crime lessen based on where I am, when its still in empire space and subject to the same law?
Judge: "Oh you beat the small child senseless with a spade on top of a desolate hill far away from the city centre, we'll lessen the sentence to a community service order as opposed to a custodial sentence."
See, doesn't really fit does it.
This confusion that low sec is more of a haven to pirates is not because they own and run the space, just that PC Plod isn't around so much.
The idea behind sec status is to reinforce these ideas, not promote anarchy in the low sec regions, if anything for orders sake the authorities would increase penalties in low sec not reduce them. But that would be equally unfair.
"Can't do the time, don't do the crime"
Want freedom to express yourself with impunity, find null sec.
Minor point perhaps but it also makes the act of POS bashes in low sec easier.
However, for "funsics" game mechanics and promoting the encouragement to see more people in different diverse regions I'd be willing to compromise for the potential good of Eve as I can see the reasoning for wanting to promote aggression into a scaled division between high / low / null wh.
So the question is can we mediate a better way of repairing sec status so as to not imprison individuals in low sec due to being "naughty"?
Some possible ideas spring to mind:
Bribes - Low sec agents who will take a sizeable fee to loose some database entries aka: repair a token of security. But limit it to how far you can repair to. e.g valid between -10 and -3
Low sec Clemancy act - increase security loss for pod kills, decrease for ships?
Other related ideas:
Reduce insurance a pay outs a little (80%?) for losses in low sec unless you pay a premium (+ 5%?) ?
Reduce taxation slightly in low sec areas to promote trade and growth? |

The problem with low-sec is this.
Reasons to be in low-sec; Shoot people OMW to 0.0. FW
......
So all the people in low-sec are either going to 0.0 or to shoot people, which means all the dudes shooting people aren't idiots, so the mass of idiocy stays in high-sec looking for noobs to wardec. Or they move to 0.0 so they don't have to worry about gate guns.
......
Reasons to be in 0.0 (well, pre-crucible it would none, lol). Shoot people. Make Isk (evp/ industry). Be part of epic fleet battles Own space!!!
Reasons to be in High-secc; Risk free chilling Bearing up isk High-density market
NOTE: And I put FW under low-sec as an afterthought. Besides, low-sec can't be all about FW. Seriously.
At this point I note that I missed the point of the thread, but removing all this nonsense would be more effort than clicking "post" guess what? |

Not at all. Low sec it's still empire space, and empire laws still apply. Moreover, IMO gate and station guns should be much more powerful than they're now. If you are in lowsec and get caught far away from any station or gate then you're on your own because there is no Concord, but that should be the only difference between lowsec and highsec regarding laws. If you want free PvP not tied to any law just go to null.

Like OVER -9000!!!! below zero if you wanted so you can claim to be the baddest of the bad ass Captain of the Galactic High Sea. If you drop below 0, you just keep going and going and going like the energizer bunny. You hit -100 and you are locked out of highsec even in a pod but if you manage to get in there (via wormhole or clone jump) CONCORD should pod your ass back to pre-800,000 SP newb starting days. Its a harsh universe and you should always be reminded of it.
Remember, if you shoot pods and ships in lowsec you deserve it when you sec status drops as fast as the prom queen surrounded by the football team. You choose to shoot ships and pods, you must deal with the consequences. You don't have to shoot the ships, but if you do and its lowsec CONCORD won't interfere but if you leave your dominion of safety where you were king of the world you should get trampled by the kings of highsec (aka CONCORD). |
