Discovered a combat signature that was Unnamed, as in once scanned out the "Type" field in the probe scanner was blank. The site itself seems that it may be bugged, read more to see why I believe this. I could not find any documentation about this combat site anywhere.
Notes I took upon arriving at the site (gated:)
Gate to the Gathering Point (requires sansha crystal tag, not consumed) Gate to the Inner Paramater (kill everything to unlock) Gate to the Outpost Headquarters (kill everything to unlock)
Named rats Pashtara Kuvakei and Zelfarios Kashnostramus were both present in the last room the first time I ran the site. *Kuvakei may have dropped a true sansha item, and there was a number of structures including a Sansha Outpost Headquarters, a storage silo, bunkers, etc. Destroyed all of these only the storage silo had a container (was full of junk.)
I have no idea what triggers completion of this site as I began it before downtime and killed both kuvakei and zelfarios however the site remained and was runnable again after downtime. I completed it a second time, destroying all the structures that seemed triggerish but the site persists. Additionally the rats eventually respawn.
Also Zelfarios drops a named dogtag.
*Note: I say may have dropped a True Sansha item as I cannot be 100% certain it was him that dropped it. The first time I ran it (before downtime) I didn't notice at first but someone had deployed a mobile tractor unit in the site, which had sucked up all the loot. I assume it was someone who attempted and failed to run it as there was also an errant Hammerhead II in the last room when I entered it the first time. Anyway I killed the two named rats immediately before downtime, when I noticed the tractor unit, wasn't enough time to kill it also so I relogged after downtime and destroyed it - it dropped the only piece of faction loot it had sucked up, but I have no idea what it's source was.
When I ran the site the second time Kuvakei was not present, and no True Sansha loot was found. Site was pretty easy, ran it in a Navy Drake without much issue.

You didn't really scan it down if it was a static complex, eh? |

Sounds like a COSMOS site. Try googling it. "I considered a career in griefing, but then realized that I would never achieve the level of tear generation that CCP manages to do each and every expansion." |

Too true, you did not have to scan down static sites when they were still the norm - static, however, simply means it's location never changes/moves/disapears, which is exactly the way this site behaves. Apparently it's been where it is for longer than I've played. The more you know.

Indeed, and the first thing I did was google it, features of the site, anything I could think of that would help give me some information on just what it was, but there was nothing. Point is moot now though, as after having asked around some I was able to get the answers I needed.
That said, if someone runs across this site again, and has the same questions I did, at least now a google search will turn up the answer. |

Some of the Cosmos missions actually require players to scan / probe the site first in order to run them. Sounds like you found somebody's Cosmos mission site, especially since there was an MTU there. Obviously they didn't complete the site which is why you found the named NPC's active the first time. The only reason the site is still active is due to not being turned in to agent as completed.
Anyway, it's been quite a while but I've completed most of the Empire Cosmos Agents (only 4 agents left to complete) and your description of the site / NPC's sounds very familiar, where was this site located?

Was in Derelik, a lowsec pocket, I honestly can't remember the system name but when I google searched the system name (after completing the second time.) It turns out to have been a former static site that was at one point warpable via a beacon, like the old static complexes. Whether the information was accurate or not I don't know but the forum post I read claimed it was either a 4/10 or 5/10 which seems pretty accurate so far as the difficulty was.
Edit: appologies it was actually Genesis and the system was Ziasad - the only station was well stocked with the tag needed to unlock the gate (at a significant markup) leading me to believe the forum post suggesting it has always been there. |
