Ok just try this Get one unit of tritanium or anyting you could trash. Enter it into escrow and set price to 0.00 ISK. Barely have time to refresh wallet that escrow already gone.... Dont tell me someone is refreshing escrow constantly to check this. Ive been told about bots buying everying that pop at 0.00 ISK. So its true. Just try, i tried myself, several times, cant believe this.. Is this not against EULA? Cant GM do something about this??

Not neccessarily a bot, by any stretch of the imagination. It's not just one person watching escrow like that, people are using escrow all of the time, probably at least 40-50 looking just for 0.0 isk sales. when you have that many people refreshing regularly, it's almost definate that someone will notice it almost immediately and buy it. Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the oth |

In financial markets we call this "perfect arbitrage" =). The making of riskfree profit without any financial input.
In fact, in the "real world" there are whole companies devoted to trawling world markets looking for these opportunities. And guess what these people do when they get home...

Agenst the EULA? Yes. Can a GM do sonmething? Yes, but you need to file an exploit petition with the name of the buyer.

A few weeks ago somebody started using a far faster escrow bot. I sure as hell can't beat it.

Thus the lesson:
when ever you set escrow to friend/alt/etc, get in habit of always setting some nominal price (like the escrow cost of 850 or so).

i accidently released a valuable 0 isk escrow once (and only once)
i noticed it the moment i clicked ok and cancelled it immediately afterwards so everyone else had a 2-3 sec window to catch it but didnt
so that kinda makes me think that there are either only a few bots fishing or none at all

They not get a ban and even if they do they just make a new account as i guess they be using a trail account like all the mail spam you get in some systems in eve for isk.
so this bot i guess is here to stay

Simpler way is to put the name of the recipient in both boxes. It's quicker and recipient doesn't need money to get the escrow.
CCP could easily stop this practice by doing one simple thing. Make it cost 1 isk for each refresh of escrow. Escrow bots rely on refreshing the "affordable" escrow button when they are sitting with 0 isk in their wallet. Refreshes really fast and only shows the escrows that are 0 isk. These are either an obvious mistake with expensive stuff inside, or someone sending out trash through the escrow system.
Make it cost even 1 isk, and after a few minutes of refreshing you've got a problem; you can't refresh for more escorws.
This would require a minimum of 2 accounts to get escrows this way, one refreshing and another sending small amounts of isk to the first on a regular interval. This would make it way easier to spot these operations and create a natural isk sink for the game.

You see the name of the seller on escrow?
I just see an escrow transaction.

Change the system, so that it requests minimum price for free-for-all escrows. Problem solved.

There is a way to find out who claims the escrows. You can find the player ID and send in a petition.

Yes you can use the log server. This was once quite 'secret' information but since the 'escrow bot claiming' seems to have risen to new heights its probaly best to see some more activity hunting down these clowns.
I confess to making a lot of money from 0.00 isk escrows, without the use of bots, and from escrow camping generally. Now its practically impossible to claim them, since the bots have got there first. Exiles recruiting
