I'm basicly a newbie (I played a 14 day trial 2 years ago, now coming back with a guild). I'm an Amarr with Amarr Frigate 4 and an executioner equipped with 3 medium pulse lasers, an afterburner, and a shield booster. What would be the best way to make money? I do not want to mine, I'd prefer either combat or transport missions. I made about 1 million ISK in 6 hours yesterday by killing asteroid pirates in a .7 zone. Should I continue doing this? Go to a lower zone? Something else entirely? Any help is appreciated.

You can also run combat missions. You will continue to get the pirate bounties but also get mission rewards and loyalty points for use later on. As you progress in standing from missions, you can move on to more rewarding agents/missions as your skills/equipment improve.

Mining is way to boring to bother with. ;) At least until you get into groups in deep 0.0 .
For you, I would look at more combat missions from agents or going into lower sec space.. Work your way down to 0.5 and see how you do. You can also try complex 8/10 and 9/10 are easy enough to do with a little practice. Even 7/10's are fairly easy to do.
I am not a fan of courier missions as a main part.. But if you like that, I would look at an Indy and doing some trade runs.. Good cash but not the most fun. ;)

Javariel you would probably of made alot more isk from looting abandoned loot containers from mission runners. The only reason i would shoot npc in empire space would be purely for the target practise.

You're shield tanking a Punisher? Blasphemy. You can run missions for good money, but you don't make much until you get to level three agents, and you'll need a Prophecy for those.

I'm going to assume that was an "oops" moment and correct you here so Mr Noob doesn't go flying his Puni into a 7/10 :P
2/10 , 3/10 are relatively easy! Dunno about 4/10's soloing as a noob. _________________

Complexes can indeed be a good source of money, but the one catch with complexes that you don't have to deal with in missions is finding one that hasn't already been cleaned out. Selling the Overseer packages is where the real money is at with Complexes. If you're in an area of space where those complexes are getting regularly farmed, you may find missions are going to be more profitable. Definitely give Complexes a try. You'll at least get exposure to them and experience running them.

rule of thumb.
more low slots = armour tank
more med slots = shield tank
amarr are almost always armour tankers anyway
