Can I draw your attention folks to one little section in this article....
Compression Arrays
Can you also say...
GOODBYE RORQUALS!
With compression being the staple aspect of Rorquals, what does this mean for the players that own them? Their services are no longer needed? That maybe they should trade them in for a Jump Freighter? Because heaven forbid we only use them just for their boosts. What's the point? Instant refining arrays and instant compression? What kind of crap are you folk smoking?
Don't get me wrong, maybe my MONTHS SPENT TRAINING ALL THIS is just going to waste. Thanks for the kick in the pants the minute I went to re-sub, looks like I'll be cancelling my recurring subscription. Whoever voted the ding-dongs in for this year's CSM have a lot of explaining to do. This will absolutely butcher the ore and mineral markets.
Guess I'm the only one on this forum who actually cares about industry. Forgive me, I'm ranting now. Good day folks. |

Before I get ahead of myself, I must quote from a previous article:
http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/reprocess-all-the-things?_ga=1.134542962.203282362.1392139341
"Also, we do know the Rorqual needs more love to be a more viable ship, and that is being looked into, but chances are this wonGÇÖt make it in EVEGÇÖs summer expansion."
Still, it bothers me, and rustles my jimmies that they've made this decision to add this array without even coming up with a solution or benefaction to the rorqual. |

what, are the "better than orca boosts" and "free* jumpclones" not good enough for you?
*100k install cost ... but no standings bullshit. One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |

when they said not this release, they were referring to kronos. theres still a chance it will make it in time for crius. at least a balance pass and not a role rework

Their love is trying to make it so the ships needs to sit in belt for it to do anything good. Thanks but no thanks CCP. |

some one has already suggested this, i will second it. Make the rorq an amazing miner. like 5+ hulks. make it have to go into siege tho :)
risk v reward and all that |

The funny thing is when one of developers stated they want to bring Rorquals to belts in future ( the post is buried somewhere). Lady Areola Fappington: -áSolo PVP isn't dead!-á You just need to make sure you have your booster, remote rep, cyno, and emergency Falcon alts logged in and ready before you do any solo PVPing. |

The most interesting thing I've heard (though I forget where) on rorqs would be to give them a mobile force shield like that from the POS... allowing people to peacefully mine inside their little safe bubble while the forcefield is up.
On a more realistic note - probably it will have to be a mix of things that will make people want to use the Rorq in belts rather than a single big pshhhhhhhh kinda bonus but then, you can never have enough pshhhhhhhhh can you? |

I've posted before that thiss will never happen, because CCP hates force fields, because they are exceptions to the rules in the code (force fields tend to be buggy as a result).
CCP has mentioned plans to remove force fields from POS too ("mooring" was tossed-about for a while as an alternative). Of course POS changes are very unlikely until CCP decides to take-on the very high-risk role management system first. |

I fervently wish they would fix roles - a bit of a side discussion anyone know what to do when you have (inactive) people hanging around your corp but even though you've removed every possible role from them and each individual privilege it still will not let you boot them?

I've always wanted to use a rorqual in a belt but despite how useful it would be it's just not practical at all. Now if it could get full use in a belt wo being in siege mode or even if you could cloak in siege mode that would be good. Also what about the rorqual being a perma mobile scan inhibitor , that could be pretty useful in itself. |

They never seem to get that tank does not matter if you have no way of fighting back or escaping. once you are locked down, no amount of tank can save you.
A decent boost to its tank, along with immunity to electronic warfare, would be a good start. I did read something about it having a forceful bubble when in siege mode which sounds interesting. if it had a bubble comparable to a small POS when deployed, that would be worth having in belts. as long as other ships can not mine while inside the bubble, more like, duck inside when hostiles show up, rather than warping off. or maybe some sort of local cyno inhibitor when in deployed mode.
My point is raw tank will not make any difference, even if could rep like a super carrier, or it had more ehp than a titan, if it can not effectively fight back, it is only a matter of time before it goes down. As an industrial ship it can not be made combat capable to the point where it would actually be used in belt, without making it way overpowered as a combat ship. An industrial ship, especially one of this size and value, needs a high evasion chance, or it will never be used outside a POS. With the coming ore compression array, the roqual is basically useless as anything but a very expensive booster.
I am waiting to see what the devs come up with. They have repeatedly mentioned making it worth taking into a belt, but their risk/reward philosophy seems way out of balance when it comes to industrial's, although I am liking what they did with the blockade runners, and DST's. Maybe they can pull something out of their hat we are not expecting.
