The new Moa, Eagle and Gila are fantastic. Especially the wings folding in during warp, that's one of my favorite aspects. Now, why not do that with other ships? I know it's probably not high on any dev lists, but i'd rather have improvements to the bobbles on existing ships than have new ones. For example, the Stratios's rotating ring could spin increasingly fast until the ship enters warp, where it keeps its spin rate until you drop out. And the blue distortion around the warp ring could grow brighter.
Orthrus's wing/heat fans/landing lanes, or whatever they are, could straighten out and allign with the ship, since they appear to be on hinges. This could work for the prongs on the frigate, too.
Probably will update with ideas for other ships. Let me know what everyone thinks. |

I AM A FAN OF YOUR IDEA. A HOT FEMALE FAN
No but seriously, why do people care so much about cosmetics in a sandbox game.

Believe it or not, heat is radiated in space. Ships have heat and need to get rid of them, so they vent it to space. It's done IRL but also in Mass Effect and KSP. The Orthrus's fins are red, so it makes sense they'd be radiating heat from the ship.
To answer your question, cosmetics are pretty. Nobody was complaining after Apocrypha. And the devs can obviously make warp effects happen, they've done it with th guns and the ships now too, so i figured i'd put the idea out there. |

Anyway, back on point, I believe if you look at the art panels from Fanfest 2014, this is what they intend to do more and more of as they redesign ships. Personally, I find some of it a bit silly, as stuff seems to move just for the sake of having stuff move (looking at you, Mordus Legion ships). |

Large surface = more area to radiate heat from. Not fans as in spinning things, just a large, flat surface that looks like a fan blade.

I haven't seen the Fanfest art panels, so i wouldn't know. But its nice to see they're looking at making the game look better. I just hope they decide to keep the Caldari's light grey and blue color scheme instead of going gun-metal gray.
Thought of another one. the Prospect and Venture's forward arms could retract in warp, since it looks like they're already on rails. |

I'm picturing something like a handheld foldable fan, but bigger! |

Just hope Amarr ships dont have a bunch of stupid fiddly doodads attached to them for the sake of warp-movement. Its okay on minmatar/gallente, maybe caldari ships, ebcause of who they are, but Amarr need to LOOK solid, not be some silly erector set ship. |

Orthrus and Garmur already have warp animations similar to what you describe. "i advice you to go spit on the back of someone else because you are fall on the wrong horse." - Meio Rayliegh |
