Hello Fellow Holers'
I have a pending logistical nightmare. Ore storage.
Now in a normal station i just through up some station containers in the corp hangars that are locked down and audited, only I and other trusted members can access the container and i view the audit log so i know who dropped what inside it and what quantity and pay my members for the ORE.
Whilst in a POS its not possible to use station containers or assemble any containers inside the corp hangars. I'm currently using a Large ship assembly array as the storage in that is fitting out needs. But as we expand more members in keeping track of the ore is going to be tricky so i would like to know the best way from experience or even idea's how we can handle this.

Well, other than having them personally store it till the transaction can be processed by the corporation, I don't know of any ways. Once your POS can compress it, you should have a much easier time with it.

Cruis is increasing the capacity of various structures most noteably the Corp Hanger by more then 100%. Couple this with new compression arrays you should have no problems storing ore. As for the tracking who puts ore where thats more complicated. I'd suggest using a third party tool or building your own for that. If that isn't your cup of tea a good ole google spreadsheet should work fine Blue-Fire Best Fire |

You can divide your hangers and then assign them to individual members like this.

I only had access to Hanger 5 while my POS mate only had Hanger 3. Both of us had access to Public, and only Directors had access to the LockDown Hanger.
It's not perfect, but it allows each POS to have 5 separate room mates and not have to worry about theft of their mods. This doesn't work for SMA's since they don't have hangers. |

And if you password protect each pos, then you've got 5 slots in each pos secured. Great way of stopping thefts. Only tell the pos residents the password, and you're good.even better now that the client remembers the password between sessions, so you can make the passwords as complicated as you like Looking for a Wormhole Corporation to call home? Can't you put stuff in whatever POS module is holding ORE now, then off line it? Won't the ORE still be there with it offlined?
Then when the day comes where you need to move out the ore, you just online each one and transfer it to, whatever..

In terms of actual storage space, a x-large ship assembly should hold you over (plus compression coming soon). For storage it's far too difficult to manage which ore belongs to which member to warrant the effort. How we handled it is a gave everyone view access to one division and had them drop ore in there and submit an evepraisal link on a Google docs form. Corp paid out for it. With compression becoming more accessible soon via the array, having a personal hangar array as a buffer should be plenty until the member stops mining and deposits into the XLSAA. The boost to compression ratios means the 50k of a PHA will be a massive volume of ore.
Unless of course you feel like building your own web-based inventory manager. That would solve the problem. I prefer evepraisal+Google doc. Just be sure to never "stack all" in that division. |

or It all belongs to the corp.
That being said, wh space does need a bigger personal corp hangar. Something that allows like 2m per member.
Also, WH mining in C4 space is way WAY WAY safer & easier than highsec. I can't AFK in highsec cause of those code guys. |

Can't afk mine in hulks & can't fly macks yet. Retrievers otoh, are ridiculously cost effective. Each one lost is less than 2 hours to replace mining wise. Eject ore hold every 17 minutes, mtu picks it up & scoop containers < 2 hours. The only downside is refining/compression & the logistics of getting to market. |

Cause I know I sure as hell won't
It seems the cursed miner bears have outsmarted us by virtue of our own apprehension to wanting to roll a static C4 for some sick nasty 20m retriever frags. I been kicked out of better homes than this. |

Very handy advice thanks! with the amount of miners we have it only takes us about 4-5 days to have in excess iof 1mil m3 of ore.
Compression in crius will make logistics easier in terms of movement - The problem i have is keeping tabs who i have to pay and how much.
I think locking down the hangars and having people "Share" a hangar that way it limits the potential theft or confusion.
In terms of mining in the WH being unsafe - Im to employ a strict set of risk management and controls it'll be safer thank hi sec as previously mentioned.

CCP's compression module will make logistics exceedingly easy. Grab the T1 ore hauler, compress ore, put it inside (as its still considered ore, it can hold it).
Worry that you are now hauling 50 to 100 million in ore in a T1 hauler. Stabbers are totally broken
