First - Yes I know there are tons of Skill Queue threads and all sorts of whines about why it should be longer. Also plenty of we;; if you'd been around in my day sonny we didn't have a queue.
What I'm asking for is the option to Plex a longer skill queue, the same way you can plex another chara training. I'm thinking of a very specific audience like military and business people who travel often and frequently can't access the game to update their queue. This places the responsibility on the player to plan ahead for their long travel/mission/deployment. But also requires them to make some level of investment for the benefit. I.e. you dont want to lose 90 days of training for your trip to an austere location, then pay a plex to lengthen your cue and then make a plan.
This puts money back in CCP pockets, and allows those with RL obligations to still remain "current" with their corp/peers in training while away.
I think the length of Queue time for 1 Plex would need to be researched for a realistic balance, but something between 30 and 90 days seems reasonable. I'd even be open to login restrictions (i.e. login more than once every 30 days and the queue resets to 24hrs or something).
Is this worth it, or is even using plex a bridge too far to help players who might not have access through no fault of their own. |

No, for all the previous reasons given.
(aside - dammit, I lost that long list of "no") One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |

I'm not trying to be an ass or a troll, but did you even read the post?
I only ask because having read a number of the other posts on this subject rarely do people offer to PAY for the ability, they want it for free. What about those who can't access the game for legitimate none lazy reasons? In your opinion "screw them" or more of sorry but it's not worth the risk to the game?
Would you be open to allowing player to petition CCP GM with verification (deployment orders, moving etc) so it's limited to a specific legit reason? The same way other games or communication services all you to pause your account while you are unable to login. |

The ability to pay for it, still does not exclude the previous reasons against. The queue was designed to remove the need to log in at silly times and enable us to train those small skills. CCP never wanted it to stop people logging in. They in fact worried about that and made that known at the time of release.
So it's still no. But that's not to say I'm against a limited skill change ability, via say evegate. That could work, maybe 10 or 12 a year.

Changing your skill queue via Eve Gate would totally meet the intent of the gap I was trying to fill, for some (those on employer systems who can't load eve). It still leaves those who can't login out of luck though.
Do you see a way to manage a feature to allow those who can't access the internet (thus not login) to still set up a queue?
Again I have read the threads I do understand the need to login and why we want people logging in. But there are plenty of legitimate times people can't log in possibly for long periods, through no fault of their own. A controlled feature likes this heavily benefits CCP. 1) Player keeps account subbed while away instead of expiring the sub. 2) Play pays additional Plex to keep queue going.
CCP effectively gets double the subscription rate for allowing a player to queue up for the time they don't have the internet available, or may not be able to install the game (but eve gate would fix that at least).
For all intensive purposes right now, it's like: Hey go defend your country - screw you you can't play or update your chara. Hey go to central africa with drs w/o borders - screw you you can't play or update chara. Sent to Haiti or Indonesia for disaster relief - screw you too!
Feels like everyone is just saying: We don't want to help you as you help other people because we are to scared others will abuse this feature to be lazy. |

Though I wish for an extended skill queue for beginners (48h for 2 weeks since the are not playing as much as to figure out how to plan properly and are not invested enough to hook up all the time) and can understand the need for a plex for queue feature, I am also for logging in as much as can be done.
That said, the access to the queue via the EVE Gate could be a possible candidate that needs further investigation. So, how to break it.... ... if none can, than it's a viable suggestion.
And someone fix that forum, damn draft function, quick reply, short text, still lost half of it xxxxx time. Are you sure your issues aren't elsewhere ?! |

It's not CCP's role to meet each and every individual need. They make a game and make it balanced how they wish. Most other MMOs and your character wouldn't make any advancement in that time. As nearly all require you to actually play to gain XP/SP.
So yes, I do think CCP is entitled to worry about abuse of a system and avoid allowing it to happen. I don't think you have a right to expect them to ignore that to meet your goal.

Please don't accept it as easily as they do. The proposition that people who log in to set their skill queue are going to stay around for another hour and play is quite ridiculous. It's nothing but an inconvenience.
If someone has a reason why being able to change the skill queue from EVE Gate is a bad thing, please do tell. CCP's delusions is not a reason. New Fitting Window | Distances above 10km | Maximums for buy orders |
