I am just curious as to the "WHY" on the agent offers. I am curious to know why my agent would like me to give him 2.8m along with some loyalty points. In return he will give me 1.4m in shiny new mining crystals. Did that ever make sense? Was there some time, now long past, in eve where said mining crystals had a great deal more value? Another I recall, I had been called upon to deliver 15m in Planetary Vehicles to my agent. In return he would pay me 1.5m for those shiny new hot rods.
Were these offers, and the rest of their ilk ever worthwhile?

all trade goods or items have a notional value set by ccp.
the actual value of items however is determined by players via the market.
that is why u also get some items via offers that are worth between 2 and 4 times their notional value. -

Edited by: Pardack on 24/06/2006 01:11:20 mrg29 has it. The prices use to determine an offer value is based on the mineral price needed to (theoretically) manufacture it (you can't manu implants/skill books atm).
This is why you can get skill books @ 15,000 LP that go for 90+ mil and (multiple)implant offers that go for 30-40mil each etc.
This is also why people farm missions. You can grind out a few K LPs easily and save up for the good offers, declining anything not really worth it.

In short, no. Most offers are crap. Doing the research that you're doing on market prices and profitability is the way to go. Wait for the good offers and decline the bad ones.

If you can explain agent offers in a clear and understandable manner, then you are clearly insane.
catch 22

The difference between insanity and genius is a fine line
