Sorry guys, I've been away from the game for awhile and searched forum, but no info..
Has there been any discussion of an official iOS/Android app? I'm not talking a companion app for changing fittings or doing market orders - although that would be cool. I would like to see a free to play (in-game purchases) strategy app based on the EVE unuverse. Please do this CCP!
Discuss.

In 2013 CCP's corp strategy was "eve everywhere". They had a mobile division that was working on making applications and games, they were working on ps3, and other such products. WoD was chugging along, and they were in talks for comics and a tv show, as well as anything else they could make.
Then CCP showed up a prototype.. EVE: VR and the reaction that people game it, made CCP green light as Valkyrie. CCP then launched Dust on the ps3 not long after fan fest. I think via a combination of issues with updating dust on ps3, dust maybe not hitting expectations, and Valk being on pc.. CCP decided to refocus, sometime around Christmas I would say.
They drove a stake through the heart of WoD (laid off some people) canned all other projects, and shifted focus to the pc only. Created a new project to move dust to pc.
So No, no mobile games are coming anytime soon. You won't see a respark of that until the current 4 games, 1 char, 1 account is finished. Or if valk and legion flop. 10 years of eve... yea i'm an addict |

Well that's a shame really.. CCP is missing out on a huge opportunity. There are freemium mobile strategy games where people are dropping literally $1000s of dollars to purchase upgrades, specialty items, time reductions, etc.
The EVE universe would be perfect for this type of strategy game.. And when you think about the millions of potential customers that have mobile phones/tablets, that is a huge potential audience that could lead to 1000s of new subscribers to the EVE PC or PS3 games. They are not terribly hard to develop either. I really think Hilmar and CCP are dropping the ball here. -áFox Pin-up

^^Chribba, that's interesting.. I'd never seen AR before done off a mobile's camera so I had to look it up.
I don't believe this is what they're doing.. but it would be interesting if the printed paper had an actual ship fitting on it so that the two papers "fighting" was going to resolve a fight between two fitted ships. .. when everything else is gone .. |
