So I am currently standing shipless and cannot decide on the ship to use, so I need some advice.
First, I only have 200mil saved up, so no super expensive ship suggestions please. I am primarily a missionrunner(I do whatever missions the ship I fly can do, I'm not doig it for the best isk/hour output I can get). I like exploration. I like drones(and I am skilled in using them), but I will not not myself to them if needed. I am skilled in shield tanking. I CANNOT fly T2 ships or use T2 weapons. I can use T2 shields + resistance buffers, shield rigs, weapon upgardes, drones(Only T1 Sentries), cov ops cloaking and propulsion. I can fly all ships up to and in including all T1 Battleships of every faction. I can use all weapons up to and including battleship class, however, I would prefer a smaller ship class, I dislike how slow Battleships are, and the fact that if I buy the hull, fitting it is impossible due to low funds =P
Any suggestions on ships are welcome, as I am currently just standing in Rens, without a ship =) |

Astero for exploration might be your best bet if you like to do just that. If you need a combat ship for plexes/L3's, go for a Gnosis. If everything else fails, get a vexor. |

Gila, Navy Vexor or maybe a Myrmidon? That'd be my top picks with that budget. Gila is hella expensive for you and breaks the rule of "Don't fly what you can't afford to lose".
but it's also only 200mil. A Gila will make that in a few hours for you. |

Hey, if you run missions and don't like the mobility of battleship, which I get, try out the HACs?
They are descent at running missions and most of them cost less than 200m before any fittings. I wouldn't suggest any of the battlecruisers at this point, not that I don't like them, they are just at a weird place at the moment.
If you like shields and missiles, I suggest the Cerberus might be the ship you are looking for or if you like turrets, the Eagle does a descent job too.
When you go exploration, the Stratios is a fine ship, but some folks need to come to their senses before you can buy the ship. signature |

Sadly, as I stated, I cannoy fly T2 ships. It would take me 40 days to get them trained.
And I agree on the Stratios, it is the ideal ship for me, it is just waaaay to expensive atm to be able to get one. |

Gnosis might be just the ship for you.
Can handle L3's, fly 5 medium drones, fit with shields and damage mods.
Use probe bonus to help you run exploration.
About the right price for your budget.
I'm suprised too. The Gnosis is rarely the right pick but you look to be that exact type of person that benifits from it.
When you can afford it and the gila prices settle down again go pick one up instead. |

Okay.
Just train what you are training right now and take up the rest at a lter date. And what Ireland said, the Gnosis might be the ship for at this time. signature |

I would like to thank you all for all of your help. I am still undecided on a ship, so until then, I decided to invest in a Heron so I can do some high/lowsec exploration while I decide on a either to get a combat ship or a ship that can do both missioning and exploration in one(Like the Gnosis or the Stratios if I get enough isk from the Heron exploration).
Many thanks to all of you =) |

Gnosis. Fitting is very forgiving, easy to shield tank, and you won't need to skill up any ship skills to get the most out of it. Can use a full flight of medium drones or carry 3 flights of light drones, gets a ROLE bonus to guns, missiles and drones, can scan down sites when you get tired of running those L3 SOE's for either LP or isk or a Stratios (awesome ship for running high sec exploration sites, including any DED site you find in high sec. You can make billions with one), one of the most agile BC's so you save time moving around in missions and sites.... The list goes on, it's a great PvE ship and because it has no skill requirements, you can focus on skilling up for the ship you truly want while using it to make isk.
Note: You can't take a BC into DED 3/10's and under.
And it only costs about 70-80mil fully fitted. Wait, CCP kills kittens now too?!-á - Freyya

And if you don't want to risk a Gnosis (since they're limited), you also have the Prophecy. Drone boat, armor oriented, can fit both turrets and missile launchers. I used one for L3 missions and worked amazingly well. |

With more than 100 of them under 60M in Jita alone, the Gnosis may be limited, but only in the absolute meaning of the word, not in any applicable sense ;).
Any BC works well in lvl3s, the point about the Gnosis is its full bonus without having to learn any BC skills. (For example in case you're skilling up your support and drone skills) |

A gila is a great ship for from scanning down anomalies and running Lv3 missions. In fact on Lv3 missions I can just release my drones and click on my FoF missiles to enjoy some fireworks. At that point is more about loot management than it is running a mission. & Yea the FoF missiles are weaker, But with the Drones firepower it doesn't really matter.
Note: I use T2 medium drones with a a good deal of sp into drones. Another ship that plays well into your current skill set might be a better choice.

It's too bad you can't fly any T2 ships, because the Harpy is an oustanding ship in level 3 security missions. It has all of the speed, signature, and resist tank in the world, range and tracking to take care of any size target, and enough power with antimatter rounds to splatter any ship fielded in a level 3 mission.
And for the price of ~30mil isk, it's a freaking STEAL. I sometimes use it to clear out the clutter of small targets in level 4 security missions when I'm feeling insane enough to do level 4 security missions for lols instead of for isk. Seriously. Do level 4 security missions in a frigate while playing Yakaty Saks and tell me you're not thoroughly entertained. But, the harpy can't take out NPC battleships.
...that's what my Enyo is for. |

What's your scanning, hacking and archeology skills at?
I was in the same boat but only had 130m. So I bought an Imicus (38~ days away from bops frig) fitted it for exploration and made a bil in my first week exploring in nullsec doing relic sites with some data.
Relic sites in null can get you some solid cash and is great if you're waiting for skills for say an ishtar (like me!) to do some more serious stuff.

All of that sounds pretty good. And hey, if you got it to work for you, super props to you! Nobody should be raining on anybody's parade if it works for them. My philosophy is that if it works, it works. Just that simple.
I would just say though, running around in null? If the OP wants to go for it, just make sure you're in a clean jump clone first. :)

Speed-fit a BC or a Navy cruiser and have fun. I avoid BS-class hulls myself, and really love BCs like the Ferox and just about any Navy cruiser hull. Been using a Prophesy a lot lately. "Blow it all on Quafe and strippers." --- Sorlac |

Many thanks for all of the suggestions, but I have been in contact with some friends ingame and they told me that since I like the hull of my ship more than its' output that I should train for Stealth Bombers(Since I have talked about how cool the Nemesis looks for a long time), granted they have no drones, but I won't really need them. That way, I can do level 1 missions(which I think are more fun anyway), I can do exploration and if I get the urge, I can also pvp a little. How, they also told me to keep looking for anoher ship, just in case it does not work out, and it is nice to have a Plan B =) |

It depends mainly of your skills. For my part, with your budget, i'd fly lvl 4 missions in a Navy Vexor (85 M ISK) with 5x T2 sentry drones. Don't forget to bring some light drones as well if small npcs come too close. Domi, Gila, Ishtar, etc are too expensive for this budget. Favoritism is good - CCP 2013 |
