The worst offense you can commit as a game developer is to not give the player enough information to play the game. When something unexpected happens that appears to be outside of the known rules or known expectations, players call it a bug and disparage the developers as incompetent.
One of the most horrific examples of this is system sovereignty. Who has how many points? Which POSes are counting towards sovereignty for which alliances? How long until sovereignty changes hands? How long until the system goes neutral? It is impossible to accurately track all of these complex factors by hand.
Please make the sovereignty process transparent for all to see and not a black box that serves to frustrate and confuse.

I agree. This is obviously something we need, particularly since it's hardly an obvious process, especially in systems where Sovereignty is being contested. We need more information, and real time data in particular.

"dont you" get DED mails?
Personally, i think that you can quite acturately follow the amount of active pos in a system, especially if you run around a bit to check on their current status...

I wish people would stop making posts like this
Don't talk about the developers as if they were incompetent, if they were, you would not be playing this game, if you think they are incompetent and you are still here, then do the rest of us a favor and keep it to yourself
I agree with the point that a simple interface would be nice, but stop attempting to pat your own ego at the cost of the dev's it is uncalled for.
There already exists a system to determine this, you are given an email each time they build a POS, and if you have towers setup that are not active that is your own fault and it is your problem to figure out on your own. Simply count the number of POSes you have at the highest level that counts, and the number they have, if theirs is greater or equal you will lose soveriegnty on the 5th downtime after the tieing one went online
Although it would be nice to have little colored bars that filled up to show the number of POSes that counted on the GUI for the tower settings, it is more then possible to tell this with the existing tools, so get the stick out of your rear and treat the dev's with a little R.E.S.P.E.C.T.
PS: Sorry for the bit of a flame, but the people who talk like this make me oh so very mad

Read the replies above? the DED Mails someone gets when claiming Sov. in a system inform you about other towers going online, so if you know how many you have online, where you shouldnt need a dev for to figure it out, you count the others and the end.

Incorrect. You get mails around 75% of the time (had it fail many times) when towers are anchored in a system that you have sovereignty in. Towers that were put up when there was no sovereignty(contested or unclaimed), towers that were put up 1-5 days ago and are waiting for sov points to push through, etc are just not tracked.
We need a method to track this - perhaps a probe? Or maybe switch sovereignty to POS modules with a long onlining time so that they can be scouted.

Personally, I'd like to see a listing on a simple % basis for sov in a system.
Dunno why you guys get all defensive of the Devs. They make a good product, but sometimes the customer base wants things added to ease useage.
if the game was real, you'd have someone in your corporation who would monitor sov for each system your corp has.
In REAL life, most of us are playing a game where remembering the sov or each system in a corp/alliance isnt' something we have the time to do.
So haveing a simple extra panel in each POS's management screen showing how many POS's you have in system, and how much of the total % is yours would help.

Just wanted to toss out an alternative idea... Perhaps this type of feature was left out intentionaly. Maybe they expect us to do a little recon to figure out what hostiles are up to sometimes. I could see a feature like this being useful, but only for someone who already has sovereignty to save the trouble of keeping a running tally on paper. If you aren't in control of a region yet, you really shouldn't have any way of knowing what's out there without flying out and discovering it for yourself.

Eyes were good when the variables determining sovereignty were known - but you cannot tell in a contested system how many days ago each POS was put up, which of them count towards sov now, which of them will count tomorrow.

QFT!
Thats part of the reason your scouts need to scout. The devs intentionally didnt put it in because too much of features like this would make things a little to easy. I enjoy having to work to scout out a system and figure out which things are going towards sovereignty and which arent. Just got to blow them all up cause there is no way.
