This is a continuation of this thread https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=357856&find=unread Not really sure why it's locked... because someone claims an exploit? Lol. It's pretty much the definition of general discussion
So in the previous thread the idea was brought up that station games should have more consequences, specifically as a suspect. While most of you disagree and continue to make assumptions about the OP, I ask you something:
Do you like station games? Do you think it helps EVE grow? Do you think the experiences that occur during station games help retain players?
It is an unfortunate part of the game in many respects, but in relation to suspects it does not have to be. When a suspect or criminal is shot, it can as well initiate a one minute weapons timer for him too. This adds a new element of risk to suspect baiting which will promote more players to engage them in the first place.
It would seem the people defending the current mechanics are risk-averse carebears in denial. They argue against increased risk because they don't like risk. They want their hand held. Hopefully CCP doesn't see it that way.

People have been doing station games for the last 11 years. There is already a foolproof counter to these games in high sec. Don't bother playing station games with them. Join Bat Country today and defend the Glorious Socialist Dictatorship |

Personally, while not a huge fan of station games myself (although I used to be rather good at it), I believe that the game has few enough ways to force a fight, and using aggression mechanics in your favor is hardly anything that needs fixing.

I can't see the logic in it.
If I was a docking manager and it was my job to tractor in ships, if a ship is being fired on, there's no way in this hell or the next I would be dragging that ship towards my docking gantries.

Dally Lama wrote:The entire point of the suspect system was to allow players to engage other players for their actions. Literally the only reason they added it in. No. They retained it because there needs to be a less severe outcome than CONCORDokken for activities against other players.
It's not something they added GÇö it's an age-old mechanic that they had to alter ever so slightly to get rid of the mess of player-to-player flaggings it previously involved.
Quote:In the current state, almost no one actually engages players that are suspect. The reason for this is they are unsure if the player will just dock up and try to come out in a much more powerful ship. No, the reason is that they simply don't want to engage other players. Those who don't have that inhibition will happily engage them, and take precautions against the same person showing up in a bigger ship.
Quote:As such, let's be clear: The suspect mechanic when at a station completely fails at it's sole purpose due to the ability to redock after being engaged. No, that ability doesn't in any way encroach on the purpose of suspect flagging. In fact, if people dock up, it shows that the flag is doing exactly what it's supposed to.
Oh, and of course, IBTL. GÇ£If you're not willing to fight for what you have in GëívGëí you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.GÇ¥
