Hi, I've got a question concerning the fleet ads as I'm about to start running free public boosts on my alt. From what I've gathered in-game, it seems that it's only possible to set the fleet ad as open for everyone in the corp, or everyone who have a good or excellent standing set by the corp. Whenever anyone else want to join the fleet, I have to manually invite them to the fleet.
How do I set the settings to allow anyone and everyone to join the fleet and take part of my boosts? Is it even possible?
Best regards, Emma
Ps. If not possible, WHY, OH, WHY?! |

I'm a bit confused because I would have said that this is possible and no problem by looking at the fleet ad window. But now you are asking here and you surly tried it out before asking, so I'm not sure anymore |

Agreed, I'm fairly sure I've seen other people do this. I am however unable to set the "minimum security status" as the only parameter. If I try to create the ad without the "visible only to corp members" or "Visible only to standings", I get a message saying that no one will be have access to my ad.
And since I have to select "good" or "Excellent" on the corp standing for both of those selections, I just don't know how I would set it.. Is it a bug perhaps or a function specification misinterpetated by the dev? We are involved in Spectre Fleet that runs public fleets exclusively. We don't use fleet ads for what its worth, people join the public channel and x up. It should be noted that we have spies and all sorts of shenanigans. We do have a lot of fun, but the way the fleet is run ua based around the fact that there are probably people in fleet to just kill us, spies on us or plain old awox us.
In your case it could be quite possible that someone joins fleet, warps to your link ship, drops and joins there buddies so they can warp to him and gank your links ship (typically shinny). We have had things like this happen. We mostly just put up with it. But i think you get the idea.

Yeah, I expect someone will try ganking it at some point, but I'm sure we can sustain the orca cost as long it dont happen every day :)
Anyone got any ideas about the open fleets? "Forgotten were the elementary rules of logic, that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence and that what can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence" - Christopher Hitchens, 2007 |

This is correct, you're stuck here.
Ask the devs about truly open fleets. The Drake is a Lie |

If its the orca your worried about then a possible solution is to boost from a pos and set the pos so no one can enter. If non corp fleet members warp to you they will bounce off the shield and cant gank you. Just be careful not to set free move unless your in fleet command position or they could take a command position above the orca and wing/fleet warp it. After the xpac the opt out of fleet warp function should cover you there as well. Hope this helps |

I can see this being very very very helpful for certain fleets.
However for Mining boosting fleets it is a death sentence. They can warp straight onto the fleet with Gank Catalysts and just shoot away. Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

First, CODE fleet jumps in to gank the Orca I.S.S. Babylon 5
