So after finishing my most recent artwork, http://alphagusta.deviantart.com/art/EVE-Online-Wallpaper-468275744 , I came to remember my first time as a new player aimlessly venturing out into nullsec, I didn't even know what security was at the time, I just jumped into a system, I looked around space, saw a space station and figured, hey why not go there. I try to dock but of course it wouldn't let me, after raging and repeatedly clicking dock, a group of two people jumped in and obliterated me... Stunned, I raged into rookie help asking why concord didn't get them and was claiming hacks all around... But that was 4 years ago on my first trial account. Now I have much more experience, and would love to be on the other end my experience for someone else xD.
So my question to you all is, what was your first nullsec experience like? What happened? How did you get there? I would love to know. |

Caldari epic arc, in a venture stabbed to the eyeballs. Nothing happened. Edit: love the work. "Confirming EVE is hot, batshit crazy, and puts out." -Omar Alharazaad "CAKE CANNOT HOLD UP TO BEING A CHARACTER DAMNIT." --áUnsuccessful At Everything |

I flew all the way to the northern tip of null, encountering no one on my way there but some gate rats. When I get to my final destination I warp to a player built station and orbit it. The locals are screaming at me to go away. It was some group called D2. Not very friendly to strangers. A couple guys undock and blow me up. For some reason they had a bunch of frigates and shuttles abandoned at various planets so I warped my pod over to one, got in, came back, got blown up. Got into another one of their ships, came back, got blown up. This went on for a while until I got bored and flew back to hisec. |

It was empty. I have flown there in rifter thru some 20 systems and back to high sec. When weapons, technology, and economies mature faster than the leadership culture entrusted with them, disaster ensues. http://i.minus.com/ibeZ0sJewvDMBN.gif =ƒÿü |

I don't remember any mind transfer.
Ill allow your use of my name this one time, but please, in the future id appreciate being contacted before you use my name in artwork.
Now, how much for a Unsuccessful at Everything riding a tiger while holding a subway sandwich (with pickles) wallpaper? Ill gladly agree to use of my name for such a masterpiece. Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings? |

Went to investigate a site I heard about near the Jove systems thinking I could decipher it and explore Jove space. Lost quite a few rookie ships, evaded a few bubble camps, and led a few mad chases around Null like a boss. After realizing the site I was investigating wouldn't get me into Jove territory, I gave up and went home.

ECP-8R.
Two weeks after release.
I was flying a Bantam, looking for high end ore that would let me cut a decent profit to build my first Caracal.
I had my first "PvP" experience, and promptly woke up in Kisogo with a headache.

Went out in a frig. Decided to see if I could loop null. Left from Minmatar space and took a detour to the eve gate with friends who had recently started playing. Continued my loop and died in Fountain I think. Despite my posting prowess I really am terrible at this game

My first null experience was around 06 or so, flying a shuttle around null, seeing how far I could go. I got all the way down to Paragon Soul, and died shortly after that. |

1 or 2 hours old just randomly picked a system on the map 47 jumps to the right of the cluster, had my arse handed to me on a plate in deep null, with the most horrific incoming missiles you've ever seen, ripped my ibis apart in a loud bright bang, pod went in seconds.
Woke up in Ansem with shaking hands, heart beating out of my chest, adrenals in full flow awed by the harshness of it. I was in love.
An hour later my killer sent me a million isk with the message 'buy yourself a new ship'.

I went on the first defense of Chribba's cottage. Missed the fleet formup and went solo. Jumped into a system named HED-GP....
After waking up in the clone bay went back, this time setting HED to avoid. Made it all the way there and had no idea what the hell to do so I warped to the TCU. Landed in the middle of the NC. fleet and died shortly afterwards.
I never got my medal from Chribba but guess I really didn't deserve it lol. Pyre Falcon is recruiting - apply today! Backstage Recruitment thread EVEO Forum Recruitment thread |

Myself and a couple other new pilots got talked into taking a peek into HED-GP by our local bittervet. The other two chickened out just outside of HED. We slipped in and bounced around some perches on the gate for a few seconds jockeying for position with some hostiles, until the Navy slicer just got bored and started running us down. Bittervet accidentally jumped straight into Slicer instead of another 200km away, and I, lord of the nooblings, accidentally TD'd him trying to TD the Slicer in my terrifying Cruicifier of ineptitude.

My first time in null was when I was moving from Placid lowsec to Solitude, and had to travel through Syndicate in my trusty Merlin. I nearly **** myself at every gate, despite encountering no one. Then, 1 jump from my new home I encountered a drag bubble camp and died horribly. Was fun, really got my heart racing.
Edit: wait I lied, I remembered an even earlier time just as I hit post. My ACTUAL first time was in August of 2012, when my corp and some FW duders decided to go shoot some people in Syndicate. I was in my trusty Merlin as always, and we ended up having a nice brawl against Rote Kapel in their ASB Rokhs and 100MN Tengus. Eventually I scooped up 100mill of loot and freaked out on comms saying I need to get this home omg so much isk wow I'm rich. I wear my goggles at night.

My first time was also making that trip to Solitude. Got caught in a bubble camp, tried to evade (I was in a buzzard with covops) but some nerd in a crow dragging 40 drones decloaked me.... I woke up in Kisogo and took the lowsec route instead. Didn't see a soul the entire 20j through lowsec. |

very first encounter : random spur of the moment cruiser roam with a bunch of people from our alliance. Let's just say it got messy very quickly.
first serious encounter : flying Cyno for a friend who was picking up a carrier he bought from a null-sec friend. 37 jumps to get back to our low-sec home, lighting cynos for an unarmed (he hadn't finished the fighter skill yet) and essentially untanked carrier through mostly hostile null and low security space. Probably the tensest 3-4 hours of my life, as I was the only way his ship was getting anywhere. Those 5 minute cycles (was flying a Force Recon) were very tense and felt like an eternity each time, as I was a sitting duck and that carrier really wasn't going to put up too much of a fight if we ran into actual hostiles. |
