I notice a disproportionate number of K162's in my little area of space as compared to Xxxx's going to wormholes.
Is this normal? I don't like the idea of jumping straight in to someones lap and although yes I accept that wormholes do have permanent occupiers the possibility of jumping straight in to someones lowsec raiding party doesn't really fascinate me. K162s tell me only that people are actively scanning and popping sigs in their hole, I find it credulous at best that out of 2500 wormholes in the game I can't seem to find an empty one. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=348015 T3 OHing subsystem review and rebalance https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=290346 LP faction weapon store costs rebalancing

1. Yes it's normal
2. You know what type/class of system is behind any given K162 by the wormhole's color. This is a nice resource to learn about that ... If you're scanning stuff regularly your brain will be able to figure colors out without that sheet quite quickly.
3. As for empty holes, war are you looking for? I didn't really get that part ... |

IIRC there is somewhere in the region of 300 outgoing wandering holes from k-space to j-space and they are spread all over k-space so if those 2500 odd wormhole space systems are largely active you will see a lot more k162s than outgoing holes.
(Baring in mind that some systems i.e. C4s won't connect directly to k-space or atleast so infrequently as effectively not connecting directly). |

C4's can never connect direct to k. Ever It's in the damn code & confirmed by devs. |

Concerning wh activity do we have any concrete figures on the population levels? Last figure I saw put it at 6% of the total population. Is it a worthwhile idea moving in to habitate or is the burnout factor too high? Also a good friend of mine suggested 'retiring' to a C1 https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=348015 T3 OHing subsystem review and rebalance https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=290346 LP faction weapon store costs rebalancing

as with all things in life there is always a risk for burn out.. Just remember to get out of the hole once in a while and see the sights and sounds of k-space or other wormholes You have to have a little explorer mentality to live in wh space I recomend that you try lower class wh's first and see if you like it :) an inexpensive way to live in a c1 could be to have a cloaky stratios and a mobile depot at first and dont forget the probe launcher and scanner probes! Then try things out and see if you like it before setting up a pos and all. |

Get the right bunch of lads and lasses behind you and wormholes are like manna from heaven.
The burnout factor exists wherever you are, but with so much to do, see, blow up, escape from, mine, build, die repeatedly (well I do) it should take a decent long while before you do burn out. |

Burnout exists everywhere in every game. What makes the difference is who are you playing the game with? A good group of people, even friends, can mean the difference between burnout and playing a game for years. All of us has to endure the mindlessness of shooting red crosses, W-space or K-space, at some point in our EVE career. Doing that while goofing off on comms means the difference between logging off and barely noticing that you're not shooting other players. |

Not sure if this is the best place to tack this on, but as a related question, i was wondering if wormholes also appear in faction warfare space, or if they are limited to un-aligned systems in lowsec

In fact, it's almost guaranteed that whenever you need to do a supply run, the chained lowsec entrance will be an active faction warfare system. |
