So when you create an alliance, the evelopedia thing says that member corporations are able to effectively vote the executor corp out of the control position of the alliance. Is this something that can actually be done, and if it is, is there any way to prevent that happening? It seems strange that with no real counter a member corp with support form other member corps could hijack a whole alliance. Is this really the way it works? |

I'm looking to set up an alliance but want to make sure I can guarantee I'll not just randomly get hijacked. The system they use seems like it's set up specifically to support a hijack. Is the only way to guarantee to keep the alliance to set up half the member corps as alt corps under your control? |

You usually hear about executor corps being infiltrated, if you've somehow lost the support of more than half of your membercorps... ^^ Delicious goon ((tech nerf, siphon, drone assist, supercap)) tears.

Well I was thinking more of as a startup, it would only take a couple of member corps to take over, right? There's no way to lock the current executor as the chosen one? |

If you're worried about being voted out then you're probably not the right kind of person to be leading an alliance. This post was lovingly crafted by a member of the Goonwaffe Posting Cabal & proud member of the popular gay hookup site, somethingawful.com |

This, and you shouldn't let just anyone in, same as recruiting for a corp. |

Nope, but you really don;t hear about alliance flipping that way, as its complex and a pita to get 51% of the corps to do it. Hell when i had to change executor corps in my last alliance it took a lot of poking and prodding for people to do the damn vote.
its easier to get an alt into the executor corp and take control that way In a room full of dumb blondes, EvE is the smart red head on the other side of the room.-á Lots of men like dumb blondes, and not everyone will like the smart red head, but she doesn;t need to change to be a dumb blonde.-á She is perfect how she is.-á Thats EvE vs other mmo's.-á You either like the red head, or you don't. |

If I remember correctly, there was a checkbox in the Alliance administration menu that would allow you to set your alliance as "Dictatorship". That would, theoretically, make your alliance a dictatorship where you wouldn't have to worry about corporation support. I don't know if that option is still in the game or working correctly. o.0 |

Create alt corp, join alliance, declare support for your executor corp. Keep doing that in the start, as soon as you've got a number of corps and you run the alliance well, they really have no need to overthrow you.
To be even more secure, create an alt corp that only has one person in it and become executor to avoid getting the executor corp infiltrated which like others say is probably a greater risk than being overthrown, unless the first thing you do is invite two griefer corps as first members who then vote for an executor change.

Ultimate protection from all scenarios: - Create an alliance with the future executor corp and have your alt as the only member of it; - For each real corp that you accept in your alliance, create an alt corp of your own and add it to the alliance;
That way you will always have 50% of corps + the executor one controller by you. The best thing is,CEOs of your alt corps don't even have to be subscribed to the game.
But then again, I'd really check if the dictatorship option is still in the game and working, but I don't have the required skills to create an alliance (at least on my subbed accounts). o.0 |

If you aren't dynamic or influential enough that people think you should still be running a startup, then you aren't the right corp to run it. |

I'm not asking about what happens if my members suddenly hate me, I'm asking how to protect from people who set out to collapse forming corps when the member count is low.
Chribba, thanks to the answer, and I'll probably do that. A few disposable corps to get it started up safely. I already had in mind the executor corp, I've just got to work out how I want to do that account wise, as I'll want both the executor and a CEO of the main corp to be logging on together and have to drop a character to achieve that. I take it I can set up the executor corp now and safely swap the executor corp CEO at a later date? |

I gave you an answer. Be selective on what corps you let join you. Make sure you trust them. Make sure you are giving them a real benefit in being part of the alliance.
Make them need you more than you need them. Again - be dynamic enough that they can't afford a coup. |
