On a slightly related note, "Inferno" as it's been called has some very interesting potential uses once you get past the heat build-up and neurological stress issues. OTSI has been working on similar technology and I certainly advocate further research into this.
We already use any number of boosters and I see no problem in improving our post-human capabilities further. We have the technology. Let's see if we have the courage and fortitude to implement it properly, for the good of us all. Prime Node. Ask me about augmentation.

send me an email if you want to do more than sit on your ass and complain. It has gotten to the point where he is deliberately evading my active timezones and monitoring my watch list. I find it both ironic and very fitting that Nauplius is being hunted, repeatedly destroyed by and cowers from a grumpy Matari warrior woman... named Sign (or Miracle) of God (if translate that right, of course; ancient Amarrian dialects are hard).
Could the Amarrian God, if he even exists, send more clear message to Nauplius that he disapproves of his activities (short of blasting him out of existence with a quantum flux)?

I do not suggest that Inferno stuffing replace Vitoc stuffing. In fact, those slaves selected to be stuffed with Inferno have to be placed under as many control mechanisms as possible, including Vitoc.
I understand enough about to Inferno to understand that if you stuff smart people with it they can invent things. I want to stuff the Empire's smart slaves with Inferno and make them invent weapons for the good of the Empire.

Madam, you may not be aware how many slaves the Empire has. The number is (very) roughly twenty trillion. We can afford to stuff a few of the smart ones with Inferno and see what new weapons we might get out of them. |

Perhaps you should consider stuffing it before making yet another decision to alienate yourself before the whole of the IGS. None of the other blooders have sympathy for you, so I don't see what you're trying to accomplish with all this.
If I recall correctly, I did not originate the phrase stuffing slaves with Vitoc, but heard it from someone else. I thought it was a brilliant phrase and began deploying it regularly. |

Well, it gets my vote. The Empire is wayward and liberal, but it is still the Chosen Empire of God, and some day it shall be returned to the correct path. And the Empire is, practically speaking, the most likely instrument by which the genocide of the Minmatar people will be achieved, as commanded by God.

Followed by: Sacriiced to the Red God by a proper Blood Raider, head cut off, stuffed corpse on display in someone's quarters in Delve.
Followed by: Khumaak impact to the head, by (1) random slave (2) Speaker of Truth (3) Holder of Danera V -- have no idea who's that, must ask my Khanid contact. 4) Empress Jamyl.

I believe the danger can be mitigated by having the successful inventions quality checked by some volunteers of proven unquestionable loyalty, who take Inferno themselves and thus can verify what the slaves produce.

I usually see Nauplius in Tzvi or Tararan and occasionally Arzad local whenever I happen upon the area. I never see any of his frequently-flown ships on D-scan. Or if I do, they are making an exit to a stargate. You would think a tech I frigate, not even a Navy frigate, would entice him into engaging but it never happens. |

So in other words you're writing off volunteers anyway, which rather mitigates the supposed "benefits" of giving it to your slaves in the first place. If you're concerned about practicality, you might as well just cut out the middleman.
Thus confirming that this isn't a good idea on your part, it's just another excuse for sadism. An in-character blog and a video: http://verinsjournal.blogspot.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu1mbsgo738

Not true. Of the slaves given Inferno, only some of them will produce useful weapons, and of those, only some will be considered for production. Only these last require verification, which of course may be performed not only by citizens but by slaves of unquestionable loyalty.

Industrial teams fueled by this substance have just begun hiring themselves out to the capsuleer sector. It offers those to whom it is injected a flash of brilliance...followed by collapse into a brain damaged vegetative state. And it is we Chosen who can benefit from it the most. See, the other Empires, they have these the pesky things called "human rights" and "social justice" that kind of get in the way of injecting their citizens with a substance that turns them into vegetables. They have to somehow get volunteers, perhaps lured by the prospect of glory and fame, perhaps by securing a future for their heirs. And then they have to care for the post-crash vegetables, who might live on for decades. But not us. For we have hundreds of billions, if not trillions, of filthy Sebiestor slaves in our borders, and of these there must be huge numbers of candidates for Inferno. Stuff them with Inferno. Put them to work designing weapons. Weapons of mass destruction. Doomsday devices. Minmatar-genome specific bioweapons. Kinds of weapons only an Inferno-addled brain could dream up. Stuff the slaves full of Inferno, and make them design a fleet that will bring New Eden to its knees. And when the Inferno-stuffed slaves crash and become vegetables, we don't care for them. We dump them in a cave to die. And then stuff some more. Empress Jamyl Sarum, the cluster has been handed you on a platter, if you would only give the order to take it. Amen. Amarr Victor. This is the most inefficient usage of resources (as a workforce), that I have ever heard!
Imagine, you are building yourself a wooden house, and need to nail down planks. Your Sebiestors would be hammers, and your idea to make hammerheads explode on contact with a nail, making it go in position in just a couple of hits. But hammer goes FUBAR after that. And this means you need to buy crates of hammers, equal quantity to nails... instead of reusing hammer over and over again, and buy something more useful than tons of tools. In other words, you can use other Sebiestors for other things.
And, you know, if you are not content with quality or amount of scientific work your Sebiestors can produce, I highly recommend you outsourcing your scientific work to the State. We will provide you with way more efficient and quality research services, would you be able to pay for them. I recommend looking in direction of SuVee, according to one review, they employ the most professional research staff in our whole cluster. |

But most of the Sebiestor given Inferno would otherwise invent nothing. Given Inferno, they would at least invent one thing. The choice is between long-lived Sebiestor that produce nothing and short-lived Sebiestor that produce something.
Keep in mind also just how many slaves we have to use. The Caldari State has 8.411 Trillion people in it total. The Amarr Empire has about 20 Trillion just in slaves.

I will need a very cheap, flash-produced throwaway clone to use Inferno with any regularity without cutting the bottom line. The cost for this clone grade makes me nervous. I do not have the backing of a multi-trillion ISK corporation after all. |

You might find the backers come knocking your door down if you decide to pursue it though. In any case, it's probably an academic concern - there's still not enough of the substance readily available to make the suggested course of action an option that's likely to be commonly taken up. -á |
