Edited by: Gee''Kin on 04/07/2006 10:04:03 Hi ,
Iam just tried my first sets of jump clones.
When i clone jump with my "clean clone" to my "main body + implants" in same station, I get a warning that my clone will be destroyed . I accepted. And when i checked my "main body" I lost all my implants (??).
Should this be happening? or is it a bug. I have petition it. But still nothing from CCP.

Edited by: LittleHorror on 04/07/2006 10:19:34 You must never jump clone to a clone in the same station, it will destroy one of your clones.
That's why the warning shows up. So I would say no need to petition it's an players error.
I would thing CCP will do nothing in this case, it's an game mechanic.

Edited by: Suzie Vale on 04/07/2006 12:57:26 would be nice if there was a ingame tutorial on jump clones to avoid messing it up.

You can only have one jump clone per station. If you jump out of a station that you already have a jump clone in, your current body that becomes a jump clone when you jump overwrites the existing clone. That includes any implants the existing clone had.
But seriously, you got a warning that you will destroy your clone and pressed OK? I doubt you will get reimbursed by CCP...

Tx mate - so don't even think about it until you have 2 uber ships & several months under your belt, ey? ;)
I think this does go to highlight that EVE has far too much downtime & too slow travel overall. I really feel like they should've allowed warp shortcuts or even self-created warp fields at mid-high levels (much sooner than the titans which create a warp field only for other ships & for oneself as well). But, I'm only a newb, so what do I know?

Not really. I could use jump clones after 4 months of play (and that was slow compared to some of my corp mates) and I was still only in a caracal then.

EVE has the least unscheduled downtime of any MMORG I've played, although I think the slow travel is intended to reflect the vastness of space.
Any of the capital ships (with the exception of the freighter) can create warp fields to travel through (although only the titan can send other ships), but you need a mate on the other end with a cyanosural field.
As for the mid-high levels stuff, I think you've fallen into the trap of thinking EVE is like other MMORGs in that you have to rush to get the biggest and best gear. Bigger isn't always better as any interceptor pilot will attest to.

I think the required skil has no prerequiments, there are number of older capsuleers in community who offer Jump Clone services (using their own corps good standings).
For rookie pilots, or pilots who consider implants too precious, the Jump Clones work as good tool to have some implant-free combat. Moving the clones around is the tricky part.
The benefit for alliance pilots with jump clones facilities aboard their fleet ships is evident. Get to your fleet from anywhere, anytime - well once in 24 hours.

You have these already. :)

Tx guys, much appreciated. I still don't understand how it all works (jump clones for one), but I'll keep plodding on. I discovered the hard way that MWDs don't work in deadzones, so if I want a quick getaway I have to swap it out for an AB or mount both. Ahhh, the fun & games! ;)
