So I do a great deal of BP stuff in a wormhole system and after looking at my production lines and starting my next set. Aside from the fact I'm pretty pissed off I have to pay to use facilities I own, and fuel, my single character responsible for ALL industry in that solar system has maxed out the system cost index. If a single character is able to max this value out, why is it even a variable? Why not just make it a fixed value (the current max)?
If I'm interpreting this correctly. In the current setup I may as well drop this POS, as all it does is blueprints and manufacture, sell it for the capital, and just run all my blueprints in jita.
Have I missed something or was it planned to encourage me to make jita even slower? If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough. |

The way the cost index is displayed in the industry window is pretty horrible. If you do a quick trip to Ouranienen or Akiainavas, you should see much much higher installation fees. That bar you see there.. well.. that one is pretty useless. |

Nope, not pretty at all, just useless. |

I got the exact same issue.
Was using a small pos with 3 labs and a single character in the month before this expansion to finish up some of my bps (and damn am i glad i did that...). Result is that my ME research bar is completely full, TE is nearly empty. Now i got a bp that needs the exact same time for both TE and ME research, cost for TE research: ~100k, cost for ME: ~1.5m. Which tells me that the shown value is also the one the game is using and not just a simple missinformation by the bar.
My guess for now is, that every system that had a single run in the last 28days in that job gets a maxed out bar, because the game assues globaljobs as zero. I hope the first reiteration will work this out by itself... maybe after dt? |

I would be interested in seeing how much of a certain activity is enough to get the system cost index rise. I'm showing half bar for manifacturing in our WH where we don't at the moment produce anything other than gas reactions and nanite paste even that is quite small scale and sporadic.
Another thing that I would welcome is that when you are shown the cost to make the run go and you mouse over it, that there would be a breakdown of what it is made of, especially how much the system cost index attributed to it. |

Recheck this soon. There's been a bug fix (or will be soon. I /think/ it's out)
There was a bug about the application of cost indexes on the first job of a type in a system. Woo! CSM 9! http://fuzzwork.enterprises/ Twitter: @fuzzysteve on Twitter |

Nope, you pretty much nailed it. :) It's both broken *and* badly conceived. "Blow it all on Quafe and strippers." --- Sorlac |

Today's patch notes: -
Quote:System cost bars are scaled properly. Well my system cost index bar has indeed shrunk. It is now at 20%. Better than one person maxing this value out, but this tells me it will only take 5. I still think that's ridiculous. If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough. |

Actually it would take 25. I suggest you revisit how square roots work |

Ah, I just assumed it would be linear. 25 ain't so bad, I'm not totally disappointed with that figure. If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough. |
