So after the patch I was doing level 4 missions and salvaging with my noctis.... I took the mods to station and wen I was going to refine it it has only 54% base yield but with ore I have 68%.....
My skills. Reprocessing 5 Reprocessing Efficiency 5 Scrapmetal Processing 4
The only bonus I get is x1.08 from srapmetal Processing and x1.04 of my mindlink........ I have 7.20 standing with the station and they take x1.0 tax of the processing ...............
Is this normal ? |

Yes, scrapmetal reprocessing took a shot to the crotch. Welcome to Crius.
On a side note, I have a specialized mineral/scrapmetal reprocessor I'm selling on the Character Bazaar if anyone is interested. With the nerf it's completely pointless for me to keep this toon outside of null. "Blow it all on Quafe and strippers." --- Sorlac |

To clarify, the station doesn't take anything in your case, your standings are high enough so you don't get the NPC tax.
The way it works is that x1.0 is a multiplier on the your reprocessing, so if you didn't have good standings this would be x0.95 for example.
But we agree it is confusing, we are discussing removing this x1.0 red line if you have good standings enough to negate the NPC tax. |

Discuss the scrapmetal processing skill too.
10% is 5% and even if you make it 10% you are still looking at a huge scale back. For that matter you could make Scrapmetal Processing skill 10% per level and it's still only going to get 75% recovery.
While being a Junker shouldn't be a road to riches it should be an option.
Maybe a T2 Noctis is in order, with a junker module that will reproc loot with a bonus. |

If scrapmetal is of so little value/use, why bother having it in the game? |

The time and the value of taking my noctis out after doing a level 4 mission is not worth it like this. I'm not going to put 100+ of mods on the market and I don't think there is a skill in the game for so many market orders so cleaning up my mission and refining it is not worth it any more. The Est. prize for the mods is lets say 10 mill.but after I refine it it's only 5 mill.. I don't see the point. The Est. prize on mods use to scale with miniral prize so I get less. |

Neither the implant or the scrapmetal skill are working as advertised after Crius. Scrapmetal processing now gives 1% reduced waste per level instead of the 2% stated in the skill description. The implant now gives 2% instead of the stated 4%. That's because they're now just modifiers of an initial 50% value, and not real percentages.
On the bright side though, the scrapmetal skill has historically been useless as the reprocessing formula could so easily be maxed without it. So Crius didn't really nerf it at all. Being so tiny the 1% bonus it gives now will probably get absorbed by the rounding formula in a lot of cases, but in principle the skill is at least now trying to do something useful. It's still not close to being worth the 4.5m SP investment if you don't have the refining pre-reqs, but it's not the guaranteed fail that it was before Crius. |

no, they are "real percentages". You're apparently expecting them to be ADDITIVE, rather than MULTIPLICATIVE.
You add 2% (or whatever) to the base number.
seeing as "50" is the base number, then you end up with the following additions:
1% = 0.5 2% = 1 3% = 1.5 4% = 2 5% = 2.5 6% = 3 7% = 3.5 8% = 4 9% = 4.5 10% = 5
if you have multiple skills, then the additions all get lumped together
e.g. refining at 50% base station = 50 + (50 * 15%) + (50 * 10%) + (50 * 10%) + (50 * 4%) <-- this is EXACTLY THE SAME as Refining = 50 * 1.15 * 1.1 * 1.1 * 1.04 <-- which is EXACLTY what you get with 5/5/5 skills based on the refining maths.
Which is EXACTLY what CCP told you it was changing to in this devblog.
OLD MATH --> Station Equipment + 0.375 x (1 + Refining skill x 0.02) x (1 + Refining Efficiency skill x 0.04) x (1 + Ore Processing skill x 0.05)
NEW MATH --> Station Equipment x (1 + Refining skill x 0.03) x (1 + Refining Efficiency skill x 0.02) x (1 + Ore Processing skill x 0.02)

It might be less confusing to show it as a percentage subtracted, which would be analogous to "we take," rather than as a multiplier. So instead of "x0.98123 reduction from station owner tax" it could say "-1.877% station owner tax." With good standings it would then say "-0.000% station owner tax," which is easily understood.

Some even have a better compression rate than current compressed ores, like the metal scrap item that can have up to 1650 trit in 0.01m3 . |

Save them up then. When the module rebalnce comes, some of them will be worth more than mineral price. The rest of them right now though still scale with mineral price, just that price is now 45% less than it was. Over a whole mission, the "scrap" modules though only work out to be like 8% of the total value of the mission, so the income is down by like 4%. It's certainly not world ending, especially when you consider the MTUs make collecting it all incredibly easy.
And remember, your noctis also gathers salvage, which hasn't changed.
