So, from before the expansion I had 20 full (1500) run HAM bpc which I was inventing. Each invention job took about 2 hours and would eat the whole bpc, so with 5 invention slots I'd go through that stack in 20 * 2 / 5 = 8 hours.
Now, inventing takes only one of the 1500 runs and takes about half a day, so I'll go through the stack in 20 * 1500 * 0.5 / 5 = 3000 days.
Am I correct that I'll never have to run a copying job again in the next 8 years? Or am I missing/miscalculating something? |

Yes you are correct that it consumes 1 run.
CCP has said they're not done with changing invention. So expect some changes to invention over the next 2 or so expansions. Signature removed, CCP Phantom |

I had just expected that they'd adjust the copies in game so they would remain roughly equivalent. Now, it seems to give a rather large advantage to those who had full run copies saved up. |

Due to the changes on how you manufacture from towers they made it easier to manufacture from BPC's. That meant we would need more BPC's in order to be able to do both manufacturing and invention. They changed the copy time to always be less than the manufacturing time (so building off of copies makes more sense then building off of BPO's) and also leaves more time to run copies for invention. So just looking at the invention end of things, yeah it looks like a huge buff, but when you look at the whole picture it's only a small buff. |

I personally love the part where you can still only do *one* invention job on that BPC with -x- runs at a time. Yes, you still need all those copies you did before. Ten invention jobs = ten blueprints, just like before. Only difference is that they are slowly consumed instead of immediately.
I'd suggest a mechanism where I can specify number of invention jobs to run on a BPC when I "Use" it, but that would just be too efficient. "Blow it all on Quafe and strippers." --- Sorlac |

So you make 10 copies of 100 runs each and then invent off them for weeks.
Edit: and if you have a manufacturing setup idle waiting for BPCs, first do 10 BPCs of say, 3-4 runs each, during the time it takes to invent those, copy another set of 10 BPCs with a bit more runs etc.
You do have a copy alt or two anyway since anyone who did invention under the old system had to have those or run invention lines idle. |

You are correct except for one thing, (Looking at my Antimatter M BPO) Pre-Crius the max number of runs for BPC's made from this was your 1500 runs, Now Post-Crius the max runs for this BPC is 300 runs, Check yours to see if that's the case. If I were to make new copies, that would indeed be the case. However I still have a bunch of old 1500 run copies lying about, and it looks like they're not gonna run dry for a while. |

Well in that case, your a lucky man! "Your security status has been lowered." - Hell yeah it was! |
