Or is 72.4% max yield eternally locked in ?? Every single station in high or losec in Lonetrek (that I have Excellent standings with) has exactly the same refining yield for ice, so I can Never have 73.0% or higher yield???
This patchspansion is just wrong! Evelopedia;-á

Yes, refine in a POS.
Small tower, refining array, onlined only when you need refining. Trivial costs.
Also note that your 72%whatever is better than it was pre patch because you get more minerals out of the ore.
Also if you are smart, you will sell the ore (or compress it and sell) because the vast majority of low end mineral buyers are capital builders and they can no longer compress minerals - they compress ore. So you can actually reduce the value of your goods by refining.
Of course miners are bad at math in general so people need to spell this out for them...
Edit: For ice I honestly don't know if compressed ice or isotopes will be the one worth more in the market. Check it out, do math! |

Jarnis speaks the truth. Also see the dev blog, Reprocess all the things!, for details about the new maths and explanation of how:
CCP Ytterbium wrote:After the summer expansion, all outposts will now have a default 50% reprocessing rate (on all items, including ore, ices, ships, ammunition etcGǪ). However: - Amarr, Caldari and Gallente outposts can be upgraded to further increase ore and ice reprocessing by 2%, 4% and 7% (for a total of 52%, 54% and 57%)
- Minmatar outposts can be upgraded to add further 3%, 7% and 10% on ore and ice reprocessing rates (for a total of 53%, 57% and 60%)
In practice, that means that someone with perfect skills, implant and standings refining at a fully upgraded Minmatar outpost will receive 14.4% more reprocessed minerals than currently. "There's no meaningful difference between a real and a virtual world. It's pointless to ask anyone who they really are. All you can do is accept and believe in them, because whoever they are in your mind, is their true identity." GÇö Kazuto Kirigaya |

Sounds helpful, but I dont understand one thing, theres no refining array in the market, and the reprocessing array refines at 54% max.... Evelopedia;-á

There is no refining in eve, whoever is using that word is trying to confuse you.
You want the "Reprocessing Array" which gives you 4% more yield than the NPC station. The "Intensive Reprocessing Array" would give you 8% more yield but that is not usable in high sec. A fully upgraded Reprocessing Outpost would give you 20% more yield, but good luck building that one yourself. |

That's 54% BASE One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |

Besides, if you are mining to sell, you should not reprocess it. You should compress it and sell compressed ore.
