No it's not, because obviously I wasn't talking about an already existing one. Maybe all people in EVE should just group up in one single corp too? You make no sense.

Weak children in adult age If you could do anything but insult other people and pretend to be a female, then perhaps your mouth-flapping may be of some relevance, otherwise it is a waste of time even to block you.

He's talking about hacking, account theft, that kind of thing. I'm fine with that being a criminal offence. Kind-of surprised it isn't already. |

Yeah but he specifically mentions in-game scamming too "Many have joined the battle, many have survived the tests and trials, but countless have fallen because they weren't the sharpest, the fastest thinking, the most devious, the most ruthless or most intelligent. -áLog in and Compete!"-á- CCP Falcon

Say you have a rare ship in your hangar, someone hacks your EVE account, undocks and self destructs, how would you quantify the damage?
Saying you 'bought' that ship in a 'virtual world' with 1 Trillion ISK 'fake money' that 'in theory' is worth 1,250$? EVE Online: Death-o-meter |

It already is a criminal offence in the UK. Unauthorised access to (or modification of) computer systems became an offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. |

One has to assume they are talking about activities outside of the games designed content. If theft, destruction of property are encouraged and supported game play by design then it would not be a criminal activity. This is most certainly only intended for misdeeds conducted outside of the games EULA (IE Hacking, Account Theft, exploits) etc. |

Well
After a quick check elsewhere, what he is after is Hackers and Gold Scammers / Sellers (Mainly because they use hacked accounts and break EULA)
That is all well and good as it should be
BUT!
Being a British politician and the total lack of digital savvy in 99.99% of all the rest of the UK politicians
The dogs dinner of a mess that his Anti-Hacking / Anti Scamming bill would become after it had wended its way through Parliament is only to be imagined, I shudder at the prospect
It would be as bad as the 'Dangerous Dog' act which instead of saying prosecute the owners of 'Dangerous Dogs' instead attempted to define that a 'Dangerous Dog' was a breed of dog that does not actually officially exist, then have them all impounded and put down!!! |

There are lots of MMO players who get scammed and are sour for it. Usually they don't have legislative power.
Anyways, I don't think in-game assets are considered assets at all by any government, but even if they are they would belong to the game company and not the individual. |

That's ridiculous. The last thing ANYONE needs is MORE government regulations.
That guy needs to take a long walk off of a short pier. I think in-game scammers should be stopped and there should be harsh in-game punishments but real life? Are you serious?

Does that act cover accounts? I wonder whether it left a gaping hole because the politicians were focused on hacking into systems rather than hacking of accounts.

It covers anything that involves you accessing ~stuff~ on any computer system where you're not authorised to be accessing it.
The same story was on the Guardian's website and was horribly written. It was only when the author responded to comments that it became vaguely clear that she understood the crook in question meant "hacking" and not in-game actions. No, your rights end in optimal+2*falloff |

Those already are.
What he's really talking about is putting real people in jail because of hurt feelings in a videogame. "Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."
