Can not express my joy seeing descent priced compress ore on market!
Wondering how many manufacturers are interested in buying it? Compression ratio nowadays looks like this: 3 freighters of ore after compression weights 1/3 of a freighter.

The really important compression ratio is mineral:compressed ore, which is better than 1:20 :)
The sell prices seem to be a bit high, they should come down a bit.
I threw this together to watch the compressed ore market becoming alive, maybe someone else is interested http://bp.kiwi.frubar.net/blubb/ - it's not real time data, just something i look at every day :) |

My first batch of compressed ice sold in Amarr rather quickly yesterday. I'm hoping the market starts to pick up. Reading Comprehension: a skill so important it deserves it's own skillbook.

Please keep spreading the words. I've been in help channel and constantly talking to miners about the new refine rates. Really they should not care about refine rates, they should be figuring out how to sell compressed ore. Refining should be on the manufacturer's end. Tons of miners are still wanting to sell minerals. We gotta stop this. |

I've had buy order ups for months to buy ore from the moment the changes were announced. It took me less than 2 days to blow my entire stock of compressed ore at 200-300% markup on the refine amounts. Some people are just nuts about compressed ore it seems. great tool. Any possibilities to see +5/+10% ores in the future? |

yeah, you tell me. Met few people who wanted to order 1mil of compressed ore for 6-7 types. Sick |

It's picking up. In 3 days sold compressed ore just over 2 billion.
Of course, market is still tiny compared to its potential. Basically every single miner should and will compress ore and sell it. :-) |

Neat. But the last line says "Average" however it is displaying totals.

It is fixed now. The average is really somewhat useless on that page, i copy&pasted a lot of code from http://bp.kiwi.frubar.net/mining/ .. copy&paste is your enemy |

Hey Qoi, this could be a good tool if you expanded it a bit more. First, like the other poster suggested, give options of ALL compressed ore, +5 and +10% as well as the null sec ores. Also, allow a calculation that prioritizes expense - this combination of compressed ore will get you your minerals for the cheapest price, and another option for volume - this combination of compressed ore will get you your minerals for the least amount of M3. I've bookmarked your site and seriously hope you improve it. Good job. |

Not many for long. Pretty soon most will establish their own compression arrays in their high sec POSes and there is a lot less time and effort compressing ore than there was building compression modules. In time most serious manufacturers will just be looking to buy uncompressed ore. |

You might want to check the volume of Veldspar and then explain to me how that is going to arrive in Jita. |

Why transport it to Jita? Pick nearest source to POS at best price. Press button. |

Yes, that compression array certainly is magic. But you have to feed it. The most efficient way to do that is with freighters, onlining or anchoring a pos only when needed. But not everyone wants to fly a freighter, and couriers can't deliver to poses. To minimize the transportation of bulky ore, miners could empty their barges or orcas or miasmoses directly into an array at a pos, but that requires the pos to be online and consuming fuel whenever they are mining. Not a big deal for a larger mining op, but for a solo or small time miner, pos fuel will eat into profits.
Is there room for a middleman who buys uncompressed ore, moves it to a POS, and compresses it? So far, yes there is, but it's a tedious job flying freighters all day. While he's docking for the 200th load of ore, he's bound to be thinking that hauling from the asteroid belt would be just as easy, so why not mine instead of paying miners for the ore? Everyone wants the other guy's piece of the pie, but to get it you have to be willing to do his job. Ultimately the advantage goes to larger organized mining ops. No reason a boosting orca can't be carrying ore from the belt to the pos instead of sitting parked at a station. Since there is no docking involved, the boosting is not interrupted. The end product of compressed ore is so compact it is trivial to move to market.

Entering warp shuts down links, but as you say it's still better than docking and loosing all of the other bonuses from the pilot.

Well, like Gilda used to say, it's always something. If it's not one thing, it's another.
