Simple question and reason for it. EVE has a estimated market share of $93 million. (per year I am assuming) Star CItizen is approaching $46million funding.
Not being funny but have you seen the level of content they are putting out over there for half the money? I love EVE but lets be honest some of it is as old as the players who play it. AND IT'S BARREN! the universe as in the space it'self is SOOOOOO empty and devoid of anything happening. Also we are stuck on a single core limitation still. Are you guys at CCP re-writing the base code to solve this? is that where the moneys gone? If so then fantastic. Or do iceland dev's just work half the time other game dev's do? Seriously.
Once again. LOVE EVE but why is there so little of it for 10 years of development.? Maybe we should have a new region set up where you can only lock 1 ship at a time. call it the newbs and bitter vets region where you can go play solo and be happy and then you can say EVE has a friendly zone so new players take interest and then ccp can be like "hey its fun to come to eve why not take part in our stretch goals" Or something.

Make it. I'm sure you can find someone to **** of and generate the other half for you.
And since when is SC so much better than eve? Spending half as much as CCP and still not fully developed. |

SC doesn't actually exist yet. It's also woefully over funded because people have gotten themselves trapped in a sunk cost fallacy.
For example; I'm sure that not even CCP would need 2 million to make a novelty pixel bonsai tree. |

If you aren't getting content, you may need to reach for the undock button. If that doesn't help, check the number in the upper left corner of your screen. Of you see a 0.5 or higher, that may be your problem. If that's not the case, I recommend trying to find another player, and then shooting at it. If that doesn't help, then the problem isn't with the game. |

Oh dear, not this again.
Why do people not understand how things work. Its simple and logical. Stuff like servers etc cost money. So playing this wonderful game costs CCP money. Also you know, staff costs, building costs, taxes etc etc.
Star Citizen is not a game yet. Its still a concept. |

I'll try and break it down into short, easy sentences for you:
CCP have been putting a hell of a lot of work into EVE
The majority of that work as been refactoring EVE's codebase one feature at a time.
That part of the work is "invisible" to the players.
The benefit we get from it is that any future development of that feature will be much quicker and easier.
We're already seeing benefits from this. For instance the rework just done on the Industry code will substantially reduce the time it takes for CCP to rework the POS code.
Basically CCP are turning EVE into EVE II one feature at a time
It's a big job
There's plenty still left to do (Structures, Corps & Alliances, Mining, PvE)

err keep buying the crap sandbox line from ccp as much as you want. Yea great i can go pvp in a fleet every night for 9 years. and some 1 could escalate it or we could do a hero RR tank vs twice the numbers. But it's always the same variables. Yes it's great we can all go "MAKE EVENT'S" but thats like saying you can host a tea party in the desert. Sure EVERY ONE could come. And sure it COULD be great and we all make it amazing by having lulz.
BUT would that same scenario not be better in a Desert where there was a Theme park.
Or another better example paintballing. Lets go paintballing at a indoor warehouse thats empty. Has a door each end and a big circle in the middle of walls 6ft high. only One team is allowed in. (simiualtes station or pos) Then maybe 4 -7 tiny little walls around.
Great fun for the first 10 or so times you go. OR if you do it once a year. BUT Boring after the first 10 times you go in a month. Now imagine if the walls moved and random smoke generation happened and from time to time a third party strolled onto the scene shooting everyone using it's advanced wormhole AI OR if parts of the floor moved up and down.
my point. The sandbox is dull as **** if its just sand. Hence why we grow out of them as kids and start playing paintball. |

Listen, at least CCP focuses on the important things. They stopped deleting boot.ini without specifying an appropriate path, that HAS to be worth something. How about the fact that I'm not posting this as a member of CCP, aren't you glad that they fixed the forums so that I can't? How about that time prefer safest actually routed through shortest and all those freighters died? They fixed that too. Don't hate CCP they're just busy fixing **** they broke in the first place. This is once again kind of the thing that annoys me. They add all these shiny spades to the sandbox that you can build all these deeply flawed sand castles with that in no way create terrible gameplay. But the actual sandbox is the same as it was. SANDBOXES ARE NOT GREAT THINGS when they are not added to or altered. They are just the same damn box year on year you do slightly different versions of the same stuff in. What is awesome is when the sandbox gets extended with a paddling pool or a water slide or a climbing wall
Then you can do all those fun sandbox things and take your bucket fill it with water and go dump it on some one else's sandcastle they built before the paddling pool was put in. also zombie army men that rise from the depths of the sandbox to kick you out of their natural habitat and crap over the sandcastle you built in their sandbox. (IE why do npc still allow people to rat their ships then dock up in their stations or put pos up in their systems) |
