Its kind of sad that EVE is so stagnant that one of the larger factions of the game feels it necessary to run an event on the test server, instead of undocking and playing on tranquility.
Perhaps it is time CCP seriously considered making an effort to unfuck the content in this game? |

The scale of the event would be literally unfeasible to do on Tranquility. The cost of all the ships needed for this are pretty astronomical.
Estimated cost of all ships in the arena Player Ships = 100b Overseer Ships = 200b Assorted Modules and Loot in the Arena = 25b
Of the 1,000+ ships destroyed in the arena, I had about 4000 left(mostly frigates left) |

Should I read this now or save it for later.... I ... wonder....
There's no doubt about it. The game has some kind of general malaise descending on it. Before Dracvlad left the game to try out other things for a few months, he said something that I could not get out of my head. It haunts me to this day.
He said that the game is becoming more about preventing other people from playing the game, then it is about actually playing a game.
That's a kind of double negative situation. Nothing good comes of that.

maybe if CCP helps, but honestly, they shouldn't. not on SiSi.
No tidi was experienced during the event except for when we podded all 230 participants at once to a unseeded station, even bridging them into the system did not cause that kind of problem. Due to the spread out nature of the arena, the only time lag was experienced was some of the beacons had a flood of unpiloted ships and a few drones.
I am hoping that CCP implements a unpiloted ship filter for the overview before we do Theomachy again, it will eliminate the cluttered overview problem.
Overall feedback for the event was positive and we will be doing it again next year but not as close to the next AT. |

"Angst Transference"
That's the term I use to describe how someone (who is incredibly angry and some perceived slight or situation) always manages to see some totally unrelated thing as somehow magically related to the thing they hate.
You can see it in real life on news websites that allow comments, (somehow, the current resident of the White House, of whom i am personally not a fan, is responsible for everything from a bad economy to Kim Kardashian's booty being too big).
But hell, you don't even have to go that far., just open any thread to which Dinsdale has posted and read about how the null sec cartels are responsible for everything, how every nerf is their fault and every buff is something that they profit from lol. |

Devil's underpaid advocate: So the problem is the inability of noobs or newer players to make Isk on Tranquility. Still indicative of a problem.

Not quite why we do it on sisi instead of Tranq, it would simply be impossible to finance the ships needed to supply for the players to shoot each other in the face and the prizes on top of that. |

It's EVE fanfiction, as acted out by real players. It's like LARPing with Laz0rz, only the LARP is RPing an already virtual universe, which makes it...LARPception.
But seriously, ask 400 capsuleers in Tranq if they want to come to this. You'll get a bunch of "mehs," a bunch of "I can't finance that" from the rookies, and everyone else will be planning on hotdropping it for KMs, or have the lot of you forgotten that this is EVE? The only way an event like this is possible is on sisi.

Meh Online.
There's one prominent filter. It's a certain mentality. Anything that does not pass the muster of "will this put more ISK in my wallet ? / more green on my killboard?". If the answer is no, then it's railed against, posted against, the monument gets shot over it. Nope it's all about min-maxer ISK/stats obsession and people who actually want to play a game are driven out (or driven to the test server in this case).
To think of the content we could have had instead of ISK faucets and gank pipelines/BLOPs.
Yes have this on TQ and people will be there just to prevent others from playing the game. CODE. is not the fanatical religion we should be worried about, it seems, as there is something worse and it's root is meta to "playing the game".

But this wasn't "the game." If EVE Tranq was "the game" this is the equivalent of a bunch of dudes getting a private server and running a "custom match."
Since, to my knowledge, there are no private EVE servers, this is the closest they're going to get. I mean, should it have 80b ISK in Tranq rewards for a custom game? That's literally the only debatable point I see in this, and I'll hear gladly both sides of that argument.
As a new player, I think this event sounds(/ed) awesome. And maybe that's the perspective I'm seeing it from, because I haven't caught Bittervet Syndrome. I don't have bottomless ISK or a reliable source of income yet or the skills to fly pirate battleships. So yeah, to me, this sounds pretty rad. Again, if I'd've known about it, I would've attempted to sign up. If they have another one, I'll attempt to sign up. My two Kred. oaramos: |oh-WAR-uh-mohs| n. lol, not talking about in game. I'm saying that people are people. People play games for lots of reasons, so while you might be in it 'for fun', 'fun to them is min/maxing till all pve is a walk in the park or a green killboard or a trillion isk wallet. Expecting people in a multiplayer game to adhere to your standard of fun is unreasonable. And so worrying about what "the game could be if only everyone had my same idea of fun" isn't going to get you anywhere but to frustration land lol.

It's best if you don't take anything on TMC seriously. It's worth reading just to know what they are up to and how they think, but everything has to be thoroughly deconstructed and in most cases ignored. Alex makes his living off Eve, and and increased subscriptions to something awful is important to him, and this leads him to worry about certain things and want certain things and that drives him say certain things. Reading TMC tells you about Alex and the Goons. Not about Eve. |
