I have recently google'd a ton in order to find out how to setup a Large Dickstar POS but there's still several questions left.
Plan is to make attacking my POS as much pain and time consuming as possible to avoid any potentual attackers. I understand the basics of the so called Dickstar: Take a Caldari Control Tower and anchor several Shield Hardeners and a ton of EWar.
I still wonder:
I will need guns to prevent afk-smartbombing - which and how many of those? Do i need Sensor Dampeners? I heard there's sniper BS with over 200km range and since EWar Batteries exactly have 200km range, the entire POS defence could be outranged without Sensor Damps, or am I wrong on that?
It would be very much appreciated if anyone could give me an optimal setup for a Dickstar.
Big thanks already.

Don't go Caldari as it's actually worse. If you don't have damage on your POS, people can just drone up and ECCM up and you're toast. Enjoy this nasty setup, and may I burn in hell for what I've done. |

If you're churning out sites the 2b would be well invested ISK. More EHP = bigger deterrent. Also note that hole effects do NOT effect towers or sleepers, only player ships. |

I could defo afford a more expensive setup but I'm kinda worried it could attract potentual attackers. We are a quite small corp and if anyone decides to kill our POS it's dead anyways. I just want to make it a pain in the ass to kill so they might think twice about it. |

Though not a dickstar, in sub-cap holes I prefer this setup:
http://eve.1019.net/pos/index.php?ct=0K&mod=1N00130L0L0L0L0L0M0M0M0M0M0N0N0N0N0N0P0P0P0P0P3G3G0Q0Q0S0S0T0T111111111111111112121212121212111112124346450Q0Q0M0L0N0P1R1R1A44&off=0U0V0V0W0W
If attacked, offline all the production mods, 2 of the 4 webs and 1 of each ewar and turn on the hardeners - in that configuration you have over 100M EHP, which combined with the almost 3k DPS your POS is dishing out is more than enough to make an enemy think twice, especially if you have POS gunners.
That having been said, you're pretty unlikely to be evicted in a sub-cap only environment unless you really **** someone off or leave juicy assets floating in your POS shield. Just remember that in W space as in Eve - the best ship is friendship. No tower beats having some buddies. |

ECM + guns + some neuts. With the changes to POS gunning requirements, get ~5-10 alts that can POS gun provided your POS is hit while you're online.
Anchor a bunch of hardeners in the POS (don't online them all) and anchor extra guns, neuts, and ECM as well. If you're there for the initial bash, just offline mods when they're getting low and online new ones. If you still get ******, you'll have all your mods offlined/incapped and have plenty of CPU/PG to online all your hardeners. If thuggin' was a category I'd win a Grammy |

Multi. If I remember correctly, the range modifier only comes from the guns, so highest DPS crystal is best. If this isn't true, then standard. If thuggin' was a category I'd win a Grammy |

medium crystals for the small pos guns. large crystals for the medium pos guns and xl crystals for the large pos guns. Type doesn't matter as the range is dictated by the size of the gun as opposed to the size crystal (unlike the turrets on ships).
The inconsistency in turret/crystal/size/etc is classic ccp :p

Go the Dullstar. Large tower, full 82.5% resists = 280M EHP. No one, absolutely no one, is going to invest 23.75 hours between two downtimes attempting to grind through that crap. J's before K's. Reasonable size (extremely boring) ishtar fleet will RF it relatively painlessly, though you'd probably have to go out of your way to really **** the wrong people off to bring something like that down on you. |

Dont go with the dickstar, deathstar or resiststar. DO THEM ALL..
If you are a small corp then your tower is gonna be your home in c4 for probably quite a while. Take all these ideas and make sure youve got enough mods anchored to do them all. Start off with a mix of ECM guns and neuts then once they get taken down if you get sieged just start onlining more and more modules. If setup correctly the attacking fleet will have to keep knocking down module after module while you sit back in pos laughing. |

Took us 3 days, and about 26h in total with gun reinforcement and such lunacy, a batphone AND a bunch of dead domies due to retardation. But we did it. In the end, nothing will save your POS, however, it was a major pain to kill it. More ECM would have saved him, maybe. |

Wow. My hat is off to you for that kind of perseverance.
That reminds me of an old argument I had with someone claiming that putting a tower on every moon virtually guarantees your safety in your hole. I argued no, of course, because the other way to get their tower(s) down would be to starve them out. Maintain hole control and let no ships in or out until they run out of fuel. The more online towers there are, the more fuel they need, and the faster the reserves run out. Offline towers, especially the smalls we usually find in holes where every moon is anchored, are nothing more than a minor delaying tactic.
There is no guarantee of safety. But damn, 26h of continuous POS bashing makes me want to NOPE right out of EVE. |

Not 100% on POS mechanics, but if you kept each POS anchored with full fuel and stront in its bays, would you be able to online them whenever? If you could, a POS on every moon would be REALLY annoying, especially if each one had anchored ECM and guns. Having to rapecage and RF 10-20+ (depending on moons and coverage) POSes would make me want to kill myself. If thuggin' was a category I'd win a Grammy |
