The tutorials, the military ones specifically, will give you a free Destroyer class ship of your faction when they are completed.
You can use that to do missions and earn enough cash for a cruiser, but I also suggest that before you fly one, you spend a bit of time training up the cruiser and medium weapons skills above one or two. That way you aren't flying the ship with bad skills and get blown up after you just get it.
There is also a maxim in EVE that works pretty well. "don't fly what you can't afford to lose". This means that you shouldn't seriously use anything that you can't replace easily. So make sure you have a good nest egg built up before you move up a ship class.
Destroyers can work outside of that though, as they are almost as cheap as frigates, they just use more guns is all. Both are effective at doing low level missions. "Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

If you haven't already done so, do all of the tutorials, you end up with a nice little nest egg and several ships. After that do the Sisters of Eve epic arc, it's worth quite a bit of Isk and combined with the nest egg from the tutorials should be enough to purchase a cruiser. The penultimate mission (Dagan) in the SoE arc can be tricky, if you struggle with it, call for help in local. You'll see people turn up in anything from a destroyer to a marauder to help you out, because they remember how much of a nightmare it can be to complete as a newbie.
Always remember rule #1: Never undock in anything that you're not comfortable with losing. Never hold your farts in. They travel up your spine and into the brain, where they ferment. They then migrate to your keyboard via your fingers. That's where shiptoasts come from.

I find begging to be the fastest way, I suggest making a post on the forums stating you need ISK for a cruiser. One of the oldest mission players in EVE designed a chart that explains stat priority in regards to mission running, compared Alpha, DPS, Ship Speed and Sig Radius and scores them. http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m24dbrfuWn1r86ax8o1_1280.jpg |

Get all your frigate skills trained up to T2 level and you can run all your missions up to and including Level 3's in those ships.
Get em all trained up to T2 level, and I'll give you the cruiser of your choice, all the skill books to get T2 weapons for it and a nice chunk of isk.
I ran the SOE Arc in a T1 frigate just to see if it could be done. Yep, It can.
Seriously, save this post and eve-mail and it's a done deal. Nerf Goons

Making a forum post would be an excellent idea. Begging is quite effective at gathering ISK. There are some other ones that work too but many require an initial investment. This may or may not work for you.

sry ,did't get what you mean? some charitable organization? Nah, we love newbies. Especially those newbies who show a good attitude and ask pertinent questions, they tend to get showered in Isk and ships. Never hold your farts in. So one of the biggest mistakes is to rush to a bigger ship before the have all the skills to really fly it. I agree with a previous suggestion to train up your frigate skills. I'd also add spending some time in a destroyer as well.
Get to the point where you are comfortable with losing a ship or two. Early on that is a lot easier in a cheap ship. |

If your short of cash try and get one with a market buy order at a local trade hub rather than just buying the cheapest sell in your local area.
Check EVE wide pricing here https://eve-central.com/
Note: buying a BPC from contracts and making your own is fun but do not expect to save money doing it as a new player. |

You could have enough money earned in a day (maybe two) as a complete noob in order to buy a cruiser.
And if you do that, pro tip: don't buy a cruiser. Because while you may be able to fly it, you wouldn't be able to pilot it. |

Not doubling from the start doesn't work. You need to hook them.

You are Gallente. So you are looking at either a Thorax, a Vexor or a Celestis.
The Celestis being the most unlikely as it is an E-War platform and will be the most expensive for you to fit effectively as a new player. Muon Damps are more expensive than T2 and knowing how to use them with scripts will require experience you can't buy for ISK. Knowing how to fit a Celestis beyond the Dampener e-war is also experience.
Vexor is a drone boat and a good one. Without Drone 5 to allow for full wings of Drones it is weak in damage and needs to be tanked to address that in PvE and needs to run away in PvP usually leaving the drones behind, adding a cost.
Thorax is a face melting beast but you don't have the luxury of escape if you find you aren't up to the task at hand. It can serve as a Rails platform but wasn't meant for that and like the Vexor will be weak.
Now that we have that out of the way, my question is, what Cruiser would you like to lose?
Once you have decided and done so, take a look at the Maulus. It's a lighter, cheaper and faster version of the Celestis. Take a look at the Tristan. It's a Lighter, cheaper, faster version of the Vexor and then take a look at the Incursus. It's a lighter, cheaper and faster version of the Thorax. They all do the same jobs accordingly and will allow you to train at a 10% loss ratio to their cruiser variant. In addition, you will find they fit your new player skills better because you are granted basic small gun and frigat skill levels you won't have in Medium and cruiser.
If this all seemed long winded and more than you bargained for? You will be run through like many other new people in EVE. We hope you enjoy your stay, no matter how brief it is. |

Join one of the thousands of socialist mining corps and go on their ops in a barely fitted venture. Proceed to make enough isk by just sitting in a field contributing nearly nothing. While other pilots who have spent months to years improving their skills blindly fill your wallet with their hard work and investment. But seriously usually they give out millions or free ships like retrievers etc which is more than enough to afford a cruiser. And you should actually pay them back for their help and assistance as you climb the ladder. Your choice on the endless radial menu that is eve. The darkest option is to join a pvp corp and war them after they help you. And the lightest option is to help them build up and succeed as a corp along with your character. Something clever |
