I was wondering if the Amarr Battleships ships are any good at PvP. (reason I'm asking is because to me the Amaar battleships look the best) I'm rather new at this game so I would appreciate some feedback as to how they perform compared to the other races. |

Geddon's nuets are amazing for PVP, and the drones do well to Navy Apocs are a common null sec doctrine for their tank and DPS Abaddon is a niche one as its cap use is horribad but it has the ability to PVP just like any of the others
And then of course you have the faction ones such as the bhaalgorn which are monsters in their own right
All and all amarr battleships are fine for PVP when fitted right and used right Is it bad if your friend says "that was a Metaphor" and you say "Meta 4? Get Tech II or faction" ?I love the sound of silent explosions in Space.-á |

Both the Navy Apoc and the Navy Geddon are extremely effective DPS platforms with serious tanks, the Abaddon is also effective but less so (being less expensive obviously).
The Geddon is a very effective neut platform.
I've never used a TI Apoc so I won't comment. |

An Amarr Battleship makes for a good ship of the line, so long as you stick to armor tanking... that is, as far as Battleship doctrines go.

Standard Apoc is intersting. It seems to be a decent ship to use when shooting at smaller/faster things because of it's bonuses. It is the fastest (I think) amarrian battleship, so that's interesting. I'm in FW so I haven't used these much in a fleet, more for t3h lulz. -Scissors is overpowered, rock is fine. -Paper |

There's a few misconceptions in this thread already.
Apoc Navy fleets, aka Foxcats, are not used for their tank and DPS. They are used for their tank and damage projection - 90km with Scorch and a meagre 550 DPS. The main advantage, when fit with pimp hardeners (NCDot doctrine fit is c. 690-750M) is 200K EHP, which makes them hard to alpha, difficult to bomb off the field easily (though not impossible) and self-reliant.
Navy Geddons are used for DPS. Because they get 1300 of them.
Armageddons, as mentioned, are the cheap man's Bhaalgorn.
Apocalypse cannot discharge the role of the Foxcat due to less slots and hence less tank. Nevertheless, for the ISK challenged nullsec alliances which have the need to SRP something that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, you make do with Apocs. You hardly see Apocs in lowsec - you're better off using Oracles.
Abbadons aren't used greatly. They lack damage projection, and the tank isn't really that much more than a pimped Foxcat. So why be limited to the old style Hellcat doctrine and lack the range to take on ishtar gangs? You just become a slightly slower victim of the current meta. There's still a role for Abbadons in station games, wormholes, etc. J's before K's. Sudden Buggery is recruiting w-nerds and w-noobs. Mail your resume in today! http://www.localectomy.blogspot.com.au
