Is there a database out there with all the locations, and what locations are connected to what locations? It would be cool to make a website that calculates how many jumps you are away from the home system, or another player. Just a thought.
On a side note, any idea how to get the solar system id or other location id?
Thanks!

Edited by: Syntheros Kotoko on 08/07/2006 18:17:31 This is a jump calculator I developed. I've posted partial source for it elsewhere in this forum. http://www.eve-vicious.org/jumps2.php
edit: While this will work in-game, it is not designed for it. You won't get fancy system links or anything. It was more of a "proof of concept" page.

You will find all the information that you need on this page. Specificly data_misc_csv.rar or data_misc_sql.rar
If you want specific assistance with using this data, I would be happy to help if I can.

Thanks for the replies! I happened to run into those database scripts shortly after posting this. Love the files! Right now I'm playing with some dijkstra algorithms to get shortest jump distance from everywhere to everywhere, and putting it all in a mysql table of its own. I have no idea how this will work fully yet, but the important thing is I'm having a blast. I may post or contact if I run into huge walls.
Best regards, Ultran

I don't know about other languages, but there's an excellent implementation of the Dijkstra algorithm in Python at http://aspn.activestate.com/ASPN/Cookbook/Python/Recipe/119466 - I recall at some point long ago hearing that this was the exact implementation the EVE autopilot router is/was based on.

Hmm, logged into the wrong character when I posted the last post.
Anyone have suggestions where I can upload two small source files? (or can I attach theme here somewhere?) - I have my own personal hosting but I prefer not to post links to it in public places. While these scripts are small, I'm paranoid about the source getting hit more often than I expect. :) ------------ Ezra Cornell pe0n, Xanadu Corporation |

Ok it's done with the pgRouting library. I'm using it now to calculate a price indice for minerals, based on quantities and secure access (and market exports, lots of it).
Can i sell (isks ingame) the 'systems atteignable by secure path only' list, or it's against rules ?
