In the Name of the Lord
Faithful!
GÇ£Why are you still fighting in the 24th Imperial Crusade?GÇ¥ That question I hear often. GÇ£It is a pointless war!GÇ¥ That is what the naysayers will repeat over and over. GÇ£Nothing is going to change, you are just wasting resources, killing innocents!GÇ¥ GÇ£CONCORD is just keeping capsuleers busy, so that they do not threaten the order of things!GÇ¥ GÇ£The 24th Imperial Crusade is a bunch of pirates and scum!GÇ¥ Enough I say! We have heard those arguments, and they change nothing! The Tribals are conquering Amarrian territory, terrorising your fellow Amarrians, killing the innocents and corrupting their kinsmen by forcing them into exile.
I ask: Do you have a heart and do you care for your people, the chosen of God? Do you know mercy and compassion? Do you still care for his commands and the imperative of the Reclaiming? Every capsuleer of Amarrian faith is obliged by the ordinances of divine law to contribute to the Reclaiming! To contribute to the promotion of virtue and prevention of vice! While the Kingdom and the Order will prevail forever and ever the Sarumite usurper will fall one day! But even now, while there is no legitimate Emperor, the ordinances of divine law stand.
There are many ways to contribute to the Reclaiming. Behind the fighting crusader there are doctors, scientists, engineers and resource harvesters, instructors, officials and employees from offices, proud representatives of every area of our intellectual life that even in the midst of war produces miracles of Amarrian genius and contributes to the Reclaiming. But I say to you today: Leave your peaceful post in the Kingdom, the Mandate and elsewhere and join the 24th Imperial Crusade! If your CEO begs you to stay, push him away and leave! To be cruel even to your mothers and fathers is the highest form of compassion here!
While it is undeniable that schismatic scum like PIE continues to make a travesty of the noble virtues of the Reclaiming, confusing it with pedantic and obsequious behaviour, no one shall be confused: Amarr is greater than the narrow minds of PIE (and Nicoletta Mithra, who will surely show up here sooner or later playing sycophant for PIE and bringing the odium theologicum). Do you have to follow rotten Sarumite principles to believe in Amarr? No! Do you need to follow a corrupting Theology Council to be Amarrian? No! Free yourself of evil and fight for the restoration of eternal Amarr! ThatGÇÖs what I am fighting for in the 24th Imperial CrusadeGÇöand will remain doing so.
Run and you shall be crushed. Stand and you shall fall. Kneel and you shall be saved
Laudetur Khanid! Amarr Victor!

The original post is an affirmation, not a question. Rather than prattle needlessly on vanities, let us consider Her Excellency's homily.
Odelya d'Hanguest wrote: I ask: Do you have a heart and do you care for your people, o chosen of God? Do you know mercy and compassion? Do you still care for His commands and the imperative of the Reclaiming? Every capsuleer of Amarrian faith is obliged by the ordinances of divine law to contribute to the Reclaiming! To contribute to the promotion of virtue and prevention of vice! Here we are reminded of the greatest work charged to us by God: to shepherd back to faith all wayward souls. A lifetime's labor spent returning the great unwashed to His grace is our divine burden to bear.
(To respond: Questions of one's sacred duty are worth asking one's self in the sacrament of prayer. Listen to God's Word in your heart, not the ravings of the self-possessed.)
Odelya d'Hanguest wrote: While the Kingdom and the Order will prevail forever and ever the Sarumite usurper will fall one day! But even now, while there is no legitimate Emperor, the ordinances of divine law stand. Here included is a warning that the empires of men are imperfect in the sight of God, but that we are forgiven for our faults through our striving to live His commandments as a society.
(To respond: The Empire should ceaselessly seek the path shown by God. If the Empire falters, we have faltered, and what does that say about the path we, His children, have followed?)
Odelya d'Hanguest wrote: There are many ways to contribute to the Reclaiming. Behind the fighting crusader there are doctors, scientists, engineers and resource harvesters, instructors, officials and employees from offices, proud representatives of every area of our intellectual life that even in the midst of war produces miracles of Amarrian genius and contributes to the Reclaiming. Here is confirmation that all subjects of the Empire are indeed crusaders, supporting the efforts of Reclaiming through all their varied and sundry vocations.
(To respond: To insinuate that life's preservers and makers stand in rank with bloodthirsty militia capsuleers is disingenuous at best. On the horizon lays the Reclaiming, and the path we choose to reach it matters as much as the reaching.)
Odelya d'Hanguest wrote: But I say to you today: Leave your peaceful post in the Kingdom, the Mandate and elsewhere and join the 24th Imperial Crusade! If your CEO begs you to stay, push him away and leave! To be cruel even to your mothers and fathers is the highest form of compassion here! Here our duty is laid clear: the best use of God's most blessed and Chosen is to join the battle with the heathens of the cluster.
(To respond: This assertion that the continuous bloodletting will foster faith throughout the cluster is nihilistic. 'They must be destroyed to be saved' is a departure from the reason with which God has blessed us.)
Odelya d'Hanguest wrote:GÇ£Why are you still fighting in the 24th Imperial Crusade?GÇ¥ That question I hear often. GÇ£It is a pointless war!GÇ¥ That is what the naysayers will repeat over and over. The ceaseless husking of souls is the point, the chief aim of a treaty writ for the material gain of sadistic heathens. We will no more secure the Reclaiming through this folly than we will comprehend God's countenance. The cluster will not know the grace of God through this futile cycle, will not embrace their faith in Him through malice.
They must instead see His majesty manifest in magnificent creation, know the profound pity of being unworthy recipients of His divine blessing.) |

That being said, Diana, one can hate the existence of the war itself and still see due cause for contributing to the effort.
Whether we like it or not, it is happening. Lives are being destroyed. Families separated. Colonies pillaged.
Those that remain in the low security systems are suffering the effects of this war. It is a testament to their greater character that they have adapted over time, and have been able to continue on surviving under this strain. Certainly they are stronger now then before all this. Still, mere survival isn't enough.
Every reprieve that the Federal Defence Union can give the people of Placid and the surrounding areas should be celebrated as a win for weary souls. I believe that you all should find similar purpose in your own militias.
Every system the TLF holds reduces the likelihood of men, women and children being returned to slavery. Every system the 24IC holds protects an Amarrian family from vengence should it become too overzealous. Every system the STPRO holds allows the State to focus much needed resources elsewhere to help the rebuild of its crumbling economy.
Yes, it is a 'Pendulum War'. It is a nonsense that it continues to exist, thinking that it may effect grand politics and international order. For those who live in the warzone, who work in the warzone, the average everyday people however - it is their lives. |

Vansimmirin, your sententiae are interesting, but largely incorrect. I instruct you to meditate more on the meaning of my message and the tenets of our prophets and saints. Hear my well-meaning advice!
Vansimmirin wrote:(To respond: Questions of one's sacred duty are worth asking one's self in the sacrament of prayer. Listen to God's Word in your heart, not the ravings of the self-possessed.) I see a Gallenteanised notion of GÇ£religionGÇ¥, considered to be an inner disposition, only authentic if based on GÇ£true beliefGÇ¥ and GÇ£virtues coming from the heartGÇ¥ etc., as opposed to GÇ£inauthentic social cohesionGÇ¥ and so on. It couldnGÇÖt be wronger. Belief does not matter as one think it does. It does not matter if you believe in the existence of gravity. You are objected to the laws of physics, whether you believe in them or not. If you decide to deny their existence and decide to act against them (by jumping from a tower in Dam-Torsad) you will die. If you act against GodGÇÖs existence and His laws, you will be damned. Why should I have to stress my inner belief in God? Do I stress that I believe in oxygen? To claim that our sacred duties are to be found in prayer is only half the truth; only to execute what He has commanded makes our lives and faith complete.
Vansimmirin wrote:(To respond: To insinuate that life's preservers and makers stand in rank with bloodthirsty militia capsuleers is disingenuous at best. On the horizon lays the Reclaiming, and the path we choose to reach it matters as much as the reaching.)
Vansimmirin wrote:(To respond: This assertion that the continuous bloodletting will foster faith throughout the cluster is nihilistic. 'They must be destroyed to be saved' is a departure from the reason with which God has blessed us.) The Lord has commanded and we will follow him. He finds triumph in sacrifice and extermination of His enemies, for throughout history the Lord punished the sinners and drowned them in their own blood:
Our Lord visited his flock and saw that all was not good. Blasphemy and heresy ruled the land. The Lord punished the sinners and drowned them in their own blood. But the people of Amarr lived righteously and in fear of God. Thus they were saved and became God's chosen. - The Scriptures, Book II 2:1
There will be neither compassion nor mercy; Nor peace, nor solace For those who bear witness to these Signs And still do not believe. - The Scriptures, Book of Reclaiming 25:10
Rejoice, o chosen of God" For our blood fills this Valley of Death, Proclaiming our sacrifice to God, And he shall raise it up for all time - The Scriptures, Saint Junip 15:11

My own reasons are simple enough:
An Exarch of the Khanid Kingdom once asked me on the basis of my faith. I told him that I follow the Way of Kasuuya on the Path of Exile, and that just as the Lord must hide behind their Word; the Actor must hide behind their Mask; the Soldier must hide behind their Sword; so must I build a Temple so that I turn it into Dust.
Upon asking me for the meaning, I could only respond that for some they come to know no other life but the warmth and safety of the flock. For others they choose to leave the flock to seek The Mountain, Kaalakiota, and once they spread their wings into the Winds of Cold and Storm where they go and what they learn only Lord Tengu will know. |

You are correct. They do not belong to either the Amarr or the Minmatar. The Bleak Lands, just as everything else in the cluster does, belong to God.
I follow God, not the temporal ambitions of whatever Emperor or Empress is currently on the Amarrian throne. God has given dominion over all creation to those that follow and fight for him. By consequence those lands belong to those who have chosen to follow him, and partake in his divine bounty.
Following this logic, the Bleak Lands belong to those who uphold God's Will in this torn and blasted cluster. Are you among the faithful? Then let not your weapons be turned to those who would wish to fight for their loved ones at home. No, let both your wrath and God's come down on whoever wishes to blot God's name from this universe, not on the innocent or the merely ignorant.
