Recently started a production chain in null to build some very large ships and I made the decision to buy materials from highsec rather than mine them myself. I used some tools to figure out how much of each ore I need and ran to highs ex to buy/order them. One thing I noticed is that compressed ore prices are out if whack, but normally within an acceptable range (I figured crius deployment would make them weird for a while). The only ore I seem to have problems with, both in finding the right amounts and in very sketchy prices was spodumain. By looking at uncompressed prices versus compressed prices and comparing the price history on uncompressed I noticed that there seems to be a very large difference. My question is, has spodumain always Ben this way? Any insight someone could offer would be very helpful. |

This is probably connected to Spodumain being extremely terrible, so nobody who can help it would mine it, leading to low volumes. Furthermore, i respectfully request these forums to be upgraded to support preformatted text. |

Spodumain is only found in mostly true nullsec and I don't think anyone has really ever shipped it back up to highsec because of the m3 it would take up even when compressed. |

I don't think I've ever seen Spodumain in hisec, even in the random gravimetrics. |

spod is found in large quantities in nullsec, especially from ore sites. A small has 280k spod rock in total for example and same for a medium ore site.
It is the main source of Tritanium in Nullsec as veldspar is in small quantities. |

Ok, geuss this means I have to re-run some calculations then. Are there any other ores that have similar circumstances? |

arkonor, bistot, crokite are also nullsec ores so i don't think you'll find them much in highsec. and any of the +5% and +10% will most likely not be found in highsec either. |

Yes because "why bother"? The rocks are larger than the minerals. Easier to refine and ship the minerals.
Also, if you are mining in null, its a safe bet its being done for onsite production in nullsec. Again, otherwise "why bother"? If you don't want to mine the rocks, go to Jita and JF the minerals down in the most compressed form possible. |

To expand on this, from what I've seen, it is only worthwhile to ship nocxium, zydrine and megacyte (and morphite if you mine mercoxit) to sell in highsec as they are high value and light (m3).
All other minerals, you'd want to keep in null to build with and before Crius, you would ship mexallon from high to null.
With Crius changes, Arkonor has mexallon now, so they'd want to refine that to get their hands on mexallon (and ship the other minerals to highsec as minerals). They would also want pyerite from Bistot so they might not want to ship it to highsec as compressed ore.
I'm not too sure if anyone wants to ship Crokite to high to sell, but as more people in null is starting to buy compressed ores for their building needs, if they can avoid shipping it to highsec, then they'd have save themselves jump fuel costs. |

Don't just buy compressed ore because compressed sounds good. Mineral volume is only a pain for the low-end minerals. So Compressed Veldspar/Scordite/Plagioclase are certainly extremely useful, Pyroxeres and Kernite also if you want to compress Isogen and Nocxium, too. Compressing higher end stuff is silly since the volumes involved are not that big even for capital construction. Only buy it if its cheaper than the minerals. you can mine abc all the way down to veldspar in wh space. if you find the high end ores in hs they came from a wh miner. with the compression arrays wh miners would be able to fill your order easy if the market is there. |

Spodumain does not spawn in HiSec, not even in ore sites. I think the only ores you get in HiSec ore sites are Hedbergite, Jaspet, Gneiss. There might be 1 or 2 more but that's all I ever saw. Epic Space Cat |

Hedbergite, Hemorphite and Jaspet to be precisely, not Gneiss. Those can be found in anomalies in high sec, Gneiss I've only seen in low sec anomalies. |

There's one highsec mission which still spawn Gneiss, but it's a very small amount. It doesn't spawn in the ore anomalies in highsec at all. |

You can use either one of the following two sites, fuzzwork or Qoi's site.
You will be extremely lucky to find any of the nullsec ore already compressed and on the market in highsec. The easiest way is just to buy the compressed highsec ore and export to null. |
