This is PANDORA News. We are live from Amarr, where reports are that a small fleet of combat vessels entered the system and engaged transport ships en route to the Emperor Family Academy.
It is unknown why they were targeted or what was on board the convoy at the time, but witnesses report at least six Minmatar class frigates have opened fire.
We are on the scene and are streaming events live through our live broadcasts at evepandora.com |

As soon as I heared about this, I raced to Amarr, but despite the large advertisement campaign by Pandora News, it seems most culprits fled the scene rapidly after the attack. From what little I gathered, it was an Ushra'Khan action, or at least they claimed it to be, broadasting a few propaganda lines in local before vanishing. No info on the transport nor what it contained to see if it warranted such special attention.
A small check on Concord security files for Amarr, showed there was a little skirmish between the 24th and Ushra'Khan. Around the posted time, an Iteron went down in Amarr, but on first glance didn't carry anything extra-ordinary. However it is possible that the transport mentioned by Pandora news has yet to be verified as lost! The Venal expedition, a Guristas Rescue -á-áThe Opux Luxury Yacht |

This has now been confirmed.
11:00AM - Earier we reported attacks on a number of convoys inside Amarr following witness reports that Minmatar vessels have been sighted. These have been confirmed as vessels belonging to Ushra'Khan. Three known industrial vessels have been destroyed. We shall be connecting live router feeds to those involved to broadcast live from on board those involved whilst maintaining our camera feed from outside the Emperor Family Academy station.
LIVE action on events as they unfold can be watched at evepandora.com by clicking LIVE BROADCASTS and selecting one of the available LIVE FEEDS from within the Boradcasts section on site.

An update on this, confirming Pandora News that 4 industrials have been destroyed in the timespan reported, 1 belonging to the Brutor tribe, 1 flown by 24th crusade and 2 neutral transports. Of these 4, 3 have been destroyed by Marmite Collective Tornados. Ushra'Khan did engage & destroy the 24th Crusade transport, causing the loss of a couple of Imperial class frigates aboard. There also have been a few skirmishes between 24th & Ushra'Khan prior and after the attack on the 24th Crusade transport. All in all, the things that often happen in the 'Pendulum Wars' This just got high profile visibility as it occured at the Amarr heart system. Thanks to pandora News, I received additional information about this attack that made me dig deeper to comprehend the full scale of this Ushra'Khan operation.
Turns out the regular navy & police forces had a hard time dealing with these intruders. It took the combined might of the Imperial Navy, 24th crusade, PIE and CVA to drive out the Ushra'Khan pilots from Imperial space. This formidable display of pwoer on Amarr side was needed due to Ushra'Khans mastery over guerrila tactics, allowing them to raid non-capsuleer shipping lines with great efficiency.
You can read more on in this publciation: Ushra'Khan liberates slaves in Amarr!

"Rescued" might not be the right word when it comes to Ushra'khan. My gut feeling says they're likely in more of a "Frying pan -> fire" position. |

Wait, why is this news? I attack amarr convoys all the ****ing time. How come I never get news coverage?
I used to destroy like 40-60 of those said convoys a day. BIG WHOOP. Why the **** does anyone care?
And if they aren't baseliner convoys, then this op makes even LESS sense. This happens all the time. "Love me or hate me, but money don't judge me. I don't care about your opinion, unless you intend to pay me. Then I care." - Anonymous |

If you are actively freeing slaves then your actions are to be applauded, however if you are attacking for profit, then you are a common highwayman.

And if you're attacking baseliner merchant marine ships absent an officially declared state of War, I believe that you're a pirate. "You let one of them go, but that's nothing new is it? If you want to see about me turning them over to you, then we can talk. Otherwise, I don't care what you think. And you can do both, you know.

I don't really give a **** of what you believe, but I don't think I've ever encountered Merchant marine ships. I'll have to look into that. Pirate has a nice ring to it. Do they carry marines on those ships? "Love me or hate me, but money don't judge me. I don't care about your opinion, unless you intend to pay me. Then I care." - Anonymous |

Destroying a convoy Industrial, of course, quite frequently results in the death of all slaves being transported.
Not that I find a whole lot of tragedy in that, but others here might think differently. |

You'd think so, except in my experience they all are safe sealed in the wreckage. How that works, I'm not really sure. Must be some effectively airtight cargoholds or whatever. You'd have to actually blow up the wreckage for them to die. "Love me or hate me, but money don't judge me. I don't care about your opinion, unless you intend to pay me. Then I care." - Anonymous |

I can answer that. Transport ships are designed to be cargo compartments with the propulsion deck, engineering deck and the bridge attached. To compensate for the absence of architectural designed to maximise protection, every cargo compartment are instead designed to have redundant structural bracings, armour platings and shield emitters directly built onto its surface. The cargoholds are deliberately designed to be the safest parts of the ship, in hopes that should the ship be destroyed, much of the cargo will survive intact for salvage and recovery. |

You really have to blame the Federation for everything don't you? Guess who here hates the Amarr more than anyone and has vested interest in emacipating Matari slaves and hurting the Empire as much as they can?
Certainly NOT Federation! |
