This morning I got a mail for buying timecards as "a way to get more ISK".
Another indication that ISK selling = GTC selling

Whats the point? We all know they are using trial accounts and will just make more as they need them, I am not going to waste my time reporting them, because thats exactly what i'd be doing, wasting my time, it would also be wasting the GM's time, i honestly dont know why the GMS even bother banning when they know they will just make a new trial acc in 5 mins.
Temporary IP subnet bans are your friend.
That'll just move them onto dial up, and insta-IP change...
did you miss the word subnet?

It is a shame they cannot IP ban

OK, trial accounts can't send eve mail...
OR a radical solution is you have to "buy" your access to EVE mail for 5 million ISK, which is refunded after three months of paid subscritpions...

Well I see the problem,
However I am one of those n00bs (yes still operating under a trial account - but already know that I am here to stay). The issue is if you stop trial accounts from sending evemail then how is a new player supposed to get a feel for the game ? Ive used them extensively to communicate with several people inside of a week!
I have to say that to bring new blood into the game limiting use of basic game mechanics would be a bad thing. However being unable to compete due to out of game $$$'s is also not helpfull (as a previous poster said I am alread wary of the skill gap - it should always be there I just wish I felt that after 6-9months it was not as big as I think its going to be!).
The question I have is why are GTC's allowed to be sold in game at all ?

How about integrating a spam filter into Eve-mail somehow? Not sure how similar Eve-mail is to normal e-mail, but spam filters seem to work fairly decently in real life.

If you disallow that, you'd have to disallow handing out game time over as gifts, or for the parents paying for their kids, or for your significant other, ... Many pilots would disappear if they could not trade Isk for ETC, especially pupils and students would be missing soon.
Each ETC is paid time. There is no discrepancy in ccp's books.
But there is a problem if both are combined with the illegal trade Isk for cash outside the game, laundered through ETC. --*=*=*--
Even with nougat, you can have a perfect moment. |

I have just posted an idea how to limit the use of GTC for turning ISK into real cash on the features and Idea's forum. basicly have a replacement that can still be transfered but no actual code that can be traded out of game for real cash. please go over there and have a look.

Just checked my Eve-mail and had one on my main but not my alt (similar name) even though I have the max fee for non-buddy list Eve-mail. I did suggest in my patition that the GM's look at were they are getting the isk to spam as a character less 5 minutes old cannot make 100k to send spam.

I petitioned it, within 60 seconds a GM replied saying he was dealing and that this was a breach of the EULA for what was being offered.
That GM is wrong.
You could get him banned for harassment, possibly. You could ban spamming, and do him that way. But what he is offering is NOT against the EULA. Selling GTCs for cash is allowed, selling GTCs for ISK is allowed. He's not offering to do anything else. ________________________________________________
