When I started playing eve, every pvp encounter was an adrenaline rush...
Now, its just click, click, click, win or lose, its all exactly the same as shooting red crosses in a mission...flavourless. i dont even bother opening wrecks anymore, unless its a juicy capital or a t3.
anyone actually managed to maintain their rush after 8+ years?

PvP in MMOs give about as much of an adrenaline rush as Checkers. I feel satisfaction from winning a battle, but that's about it. |

If you do something frequently, it's going to lose its appeal eventually. Being primarily an explorer, I get a rush from PVP experiences just about every time because I do it so infrequently. Consequently, whenever I get a big drop from clearing a site, I just shrug it off now as something that's to be expected. |

If you ever got an adrenaline rush from PvP in a game with such an uninvolved combat system and such an uninteresting meta-game, you probably didn't get out much. |

I was shooting an elite pvp tengu fleet recently...
We were almost perfectly safe in a blob of carriers, using our -perfectly balanced- sentry drones to shoot cruisers to death. Furthermore, they didn't even bother trying to shoot us, it was not possible for them to break our spidertank anyway.
The badguys didn't even login any dreads or supers because of our -power projection-. ^^ Delicious goon ((tech nerf, siphon, drone assist, supercap)) tears.
Taking a wrecking ball to the futile hopes and broken dreams of skillless blobbers. |

I know some manage to keep it for a while by flying more and more expensive fits so they have more on the line when they pvp (such as barghests with officer points just for the comedy of the point range etc), but even that fades eventually.
Just be content that you probably ruined someone else's day. |

There are 4 types of space in EVE with completely different rules. You can try and do something else in an environment that is unfamiliar to you and you may get the rush back. It worked for me. the Code ALWAYS wins |

Solo yes, in fleets no. Also check the wrecks. I was once with fleet and was chasing some guy in line to 2 celestials. We all warped to both celestials at different ranges and I found 2 dessie wrecks.Opened one and found out it had 30k void ammo. So I got me tons of ammo to waste for my future pvp for free. |

I've never really had an adrenalin rush from pvp as such. I enjoy it immensely and the first fight I had hooked me to the game, but it's never been about an emotional response.
For me it's more about analysis of the situation - analysing how and what my opponent is flying and what I can do to counter that or put myself in the best position to win.
That sounds kind of clinical and boring, but to me it's not. The critical thinking and making decisions quickly is what I enjoy so much.
That will never go away I hope, but LS I also hope you find your enjoyment of it again. Come Win At Eve - Join The Vendunari

It would probably explain why there are suddenly more people playing WoT these days. The PvP in there is always a rush. I even saw a guy named TheGoonswarm yesterday (with incredible stats)
Those Goons! They suck at Eve but looks like they are awesome at WoT !!

I made an alt and use only T1 ships with T1 weapons, no boost. The joy when killing better / bigger ships is still there
Edit: This should get better after the T1 module rebalancing |

I'll be honest, the rush from a bombing run is pretty great.
Depending on the person though, Boat's running commentary on (whatever) may or may not allow your to achieve a higher eve online climax ^^ Delicious goon ((tech nerf, siphon, drone assist, supercap)) tears.

It depends on the kind of PVP you're doing. IMO, Nothing beats the rush of fast frigate combat, especially when you're alone and against the odds. GÇ£Some capsuleers claim that ECM is 'dishonorable' and 'unfair'. Jam those ones first, and kill them last.GÇ¥ - Jirai 'Fatal' Laitanen, Pithum Nullifier Training Manual c. YC104 |

Taking on a frigate fleet in 4-5 Long range Interceptors. Barely managing to hold point while barely staying outside the enemy scramrange (or failing to do so).
Flying my beloved guntanked catalyst. Killing whatever (bait) comes into my plex just seconds before their reinforcements arrive (or failing to do so).

Even though I've been at it more than a decade, I still get a panic attack when my squad comes up on a flight of HE111s and I'm sitting in a wood and cloth Hurricane with 30 seconds of ammo. Nothing kicks the adrenaline in like bouncing a bunch of bombers from the sun, knowing they are guarded by a group of expert players flying Emils that can shred you in a second.
Oops...wrong game. Uh...EVE...it's like playing horseshoes for PVP excitement. You need immersion to suspend disbelief and a third person spaceship clickfest just doesn't cut it. I have yet to feel more than mild interest in what's happening on the field of battle in this game.

Raise the risk factor.
EVE PvP rush is all about the risk of losing something. Unless you tell me that you frequently do Titan's drive-by, drop Nyx on thrasher or fly 5bil Orthruses against overwhelming odds, I don't think the fun has ended for you yet. |
