Hey , I planed to use my frends acc , to grind some more ISK cuz , i wont have much time after August. Im new , and got Drake only , so my frend can fly an Tengu. I heard if u use acc on 2-3 diffrent IP adress , u can get some sort of ban , on that acc .Dunno is that acc perma ban , or some IP ban. Can anyone explain me , what can happend and is it safe to use that acc on different IP adress.
Thanks.

Account sharing is against the EULA, and asking people to share their experiences so you can do the same, on the official forums no less, is not a particularly clever ideaGǪ GÇ£If you're not willing to fight for what you have in GëívGëí you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.GÇ¥

Yep, a definite EULA violation. Plus, accidentally getting your friend's multi-billion isk mission pimpmobile blown up in Worlds Collide may put a bit of strain on your friendship. I remember getting a frantic message from a friend once (who shall remain nameless) confessing that he had taken his brother's prize 2 billion isk Drake (this was a while ago) out to run a few missions and had a little accident. Pleasepleaseplease could I come and scoop the loot? Don't let this be you. |

Kaarous Aldurald wrote:Account sharing will, with no exception that I am aware of, bring the ban hammer. Bingo, ip adress issues were bandied about a while ago by a couple of players who had their accounts banned by the security team for ither rmt or botting ( can't remember which). I'f you screwup logging in from a different ip (get your password/user name wrong) or can't name one of the toons on the account repeatedly , the security team will lock the account as a precaution to prevent it from being hacked (and attempt to contact the owner , which is why you should have a valid email setup).
That said , none of that will come into play as if your friend gives you his login details the account will be banned for account sharing. Particularly as you have posted this.

Like others said; now that you have posted your idea, its probably best NOT to do it. I can imagine CCP being warned and keeping its eyes open.
Normally its not that big of a problem. I use several computers, including a laptop. That IP adress can be in a different country. You will be notified that it's a new IP adress, so you need to type in your character again. If it wasnt me, but a friend, CCP would be none the wiser. I'm not using biometrics to login. Unless something odd happens. Like a login in London two minutes after a login in New York. Thats rather suspicious. |

A. Account sharing is not allowed by the EULA.
B. By making this post, you just alerted CCP that you are violating said EULA Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

Cost to move is 2 PLEX, not 1.
So your idea at least costs 4 PLEX to realize, which kind of negates the idea to use the Tengu to grind ISK as you already spend close to 2.5bil to do this. Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

You are fine, just apologize to CCP and don't do it again. They are cool, you have to really **** them off badly to get permanantly banned.

That wouldn't even be close to FTL. If you went from London to New York in a second, you'd only reach about 1% of the speed of light. If you wanted to break the light speed barrier, you'd have to get there in about 8 milliseconds.

Asking for it on the public forum shows your either a complete moron , or totally clueless .
So you should be fine and CCP probably will not intervene .

There are in fact exceptions. CCP has a squatter = ownership policy depending on how long it has been going on.

Find that hard to believe. It's more likely cases will be looked at on an individual basis rather than a set policy.

The word 'policy' may be a misstatement, but the fact of the matter is that at some point it is no longer considered your account, original owner or not. And thus is exempt from the enforcement of the EULA.

It's probably more complex than just a time limit. I would have thought it would be more like if there isn't enough evidence to make a sound judgement, they're more inclined to give the present owner the benefit of doubt. |

I don't think evidence was the issue. But anyway, what I said was what they said in paraphrase.

If he done something wrong, let CCP deal with it, not in the wild west here chaps, from our POV he asked a question and he got it, no need to be dicks. |

The sad thing is that though CCP has attempted to address this problem in game, the forum is still wide open for this type of crap. It's on them that new player retention is as low as it is.

It's impossible for anyone to explain to you how you can get away with it. That in itself would probably be against the EULA.
With that said, CCP will not ban people for logging in from different IPs that are local. That would be disastrous for players that play from work for instance.
