Let me know if I'm missing something here:
The new patch is supposed to encourage us to spread out. So, you need to hunt around to find systems with favorable index levels that also meet your logistical needs.
Obviously, opening the Industry window and selecting the Facilities tab gives you a region-wide list of all AVAILABLE services.
Problem: it only shows AVAILABLE services. The index levels for unavailable services are not visible. It seems the only way to see the hidden index level is to drop a POS and the required module . Only then will the hidden index appear.
Question: Does anyone know of any method to check system index levels for unavailable services? (I can only hope DOTLAN will add a drop down to view indexes on their map) |

IIRC, it's in the CREST API ... although, I'd have to dig back through things to find where they mentioned it... One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |

I have seen that and have been playing around with the spreadsheet. I guess I'm having a hard time believing that CCP left out this capability in the Industry window. |

Just looked over that. It seems like the indexes are way off. The system I tested it at was Isikano. Industry window shows -35% for TE/ME, -40% for copying, -50% for invention.
The Fuzzwork cost index is TE 3.43%, ME 3.93%, Copy 4.27%, Invention 3.19%
TBH, not even sure how fuzz works numbers correlate to the in game Industry indexes. |

You're not looking at the right things.
You're looking at the time multipliers for the POS facilities you have in the system.
The cost index, in game, is available to 2 digits (0.01 for example) on the map. on the industry screen, it's the little red bar that you see, if you hover on the installation cost.
It's the multiplier on the adjusted price of the components of the thing you're making (or 0.02 of that, if you're doing blueprint research) to get the installation cost. Woo! CSM 9! http://fuzzwork.enterprises/ Twitter: @fuzzysteve on Twitter |

Ah, that's what I get for posting before my second cup of coffee. The station percentages should have clicked for me, I know better.
Got the fuzz works number now. You also answered my initial question- Thanks. Where I asked where you can view the unavailable installations. Can't believe that I have to use that horrible star map to see it. Seems they could have just done it on the industry window. |

You can find this information in CREST yes, but I believe you can also find it in the client via the F10 map. CCP FoxFour // Game Designer // @regnerba
