Today marks the Day Britain joined WWI. 2200hours. Britain remembers.
http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-28632223 Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person." |

And salute to over 37 million casualties slaughtered in an unnecessary war that could have been easily avoided if only the politicians had wanted it. I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

I salute all 37 million casualties as well and will throw in that if the industrial machine tycoons had wanted the war to not happen they would have told the politicians to stand down.

I think it's self explanetory, don't you? Or you could just google it. But I think you are just being awkward for the sake of being awkward... the 'great' here refers to 'large' not 'awesome' . It was at the time the largest scale conflict the world had seen, hence 'great war'
As Belgian, I salute the British for their rapid assistance on that dark day. Only a few hours after the war started for us, Britain/UK let us know they stood by us by declaring war & sending troops over a few days later. The delay helped in escorting many civilians to the safety of France.
And yet, today it should also be a reminder of a great thing, who back then could think Europe today would stand as a united continent, where arch-enemies of old now work side by side. We tend to take our united Europe for granted, but it's memorials like this that remind us that for most of our history, it was a battlefield. -áUshra'Khan liberates slaves in Amarr!-á -á-áThe Opux Luxury Yacht |

"great" as in a measure of scale. "Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

United europe? You must be joking, its like picking one kid from a pack, beating him badly, then another one, until only bully from america is left, that means there is not much stamina left to put him down. Then the bully goes and beats the bad guy and the europeans can live traumatized for the rest of their life with bully laughin from their funny cars. This is european way.
