EVE changes The main idea is not to nerf a class of ship out of existence but to bring back fights where both sides have fun.
I would like to see Remote Reps mechanic change so the RR Mod would add a bonus to the ship target ship on board repair mod instead of actually adding shield or armor to the target ship. I donGÇÖt know if diminishing returns would be needed or not, that would need to be figure out in testing. but I think this could change the game for the better. I think this would change a lot of fleet builds, but not all; you could still make a buffer tank fleet, only now you would live and die with your buffer. And if a fleet decided they want to bring logi, every ship in the fleet that would have to mount an active tank or not get any reps. Pilots now wouldnGÇÖt be able to dedicate as much resistance or buffer tank if they needed to use one or more slots for an active rep. A pilot would also need to plan for the additional cap need. As how this would affect PVE, yeah incursion fleets would have to design different builds, but this could be balanced with the amount of damage done in an incursion as to not destroy incursions, and this would keep gameplay the same. This change would be a nerf, but it would also shift the blame that sometimes gets focused on healers, it gives pilots a responsibility for their own healing. Most of all I donGÇÖt think this would destroy the gameplay for logi pilots, for a pilot who enjoys the current logi gameplay I donGÇÖt think this change would change a lot for them.
The way most games counter healers are with stuns. And I donGÇÖt think adding a stun would be a bad thing for eve. I would only add it to NULL to start. To do this use the bomb mechanic and add a bomb that would turn off all mods, deplete cap, and make immobile for 1-2 seconds, this would do several things breaking target locks, depleting cap and stunning the ship so it drifts off alignment would make a ship venerable. This would also be more detrimental the larger the ship. A stunned frig would be back operational a little after the stun wears off, but a large capital with longer lock times and more time to align would take longer. Adding the stun Bomb with the change to remote reping would create some synergy make a ship very venerable ship when it was stunned because it couldnGÇÖt heal itself, but unlike other game where a player can get stun locked I donGÇÖt think this would create an automatic I win button. Remote cap transfer or faster cap recharge mods could bring the stunned player back online get hardeners and repair mods running shortly after 1-2 second stun wears off, but to get remote cap quick would take coordination and skill.
To balance bombs and the new stun bomb I think GÇ£Defender LaunchersGÇ¥ should be add. These would shoot bombs at extremely close range, I think if a ship is within the blast radius of the bomb than the defender missile should destroy it, but if it were to detonate and the ship is outside the blast radius the defender missile wouldnGÇÖt fire, this would limit them and keep one ship from protecting a fleet. Since Defender missiles are already in the game this would be an awesome reason to add the defender missiles to game play.
In the rock paper scissors, these three changes together would be a balance, with the goal of weakening the current gameplay that is centered around massive logi, but at the same time not nerf logi out of existence. Also this would add more diversity to fleets as well as more diversity of mods added to ships, instead of just buffer tank and DPS mods, a armor or shield repair mod might be added as well as some buffer, and addition cap needs would have to take into consideration at the fleet and ship level. During fleet fights the average player would then have to GÇÿbalancing cap their and repair mod in addition to just pressing f1GÇÖ, but solo game player would go nearly unchanged. This would also diversify the role of a bomber, giving it more of an impact against a fleets that didnGÇÖt bring defender missiles, bringing stuns to the game, but less of an impact against a fleet might that wants to bring defender missiles, except now fleets with defender missiles would have perhaps fewer slots for guns, or if their capitals or logi that have defender Launchers on them would have fewer slots for RR making logi or capitals less effective.
IGÇÖm not a programmer but just looking at this I donGÇÖt think this would take a lot of programing to pull off. The Myrmidon has the bonus to armor Repairer amount so I would think their would be a way to to code the Remote armor and Remote shield reps to act the same way. The stun bomb could be added with minimal coding perhaps add some graphics of electricity going around the ship when stunned would be nice but not a necessity. And making a launcher for defender missiles shouldnGÇÖt be too hard change a current launchers color, and then it would just need to be programed to look to see if a bomb was to detonate in range of the mode, if yes turn off bomb.

The whole point of remote rep support fleets is that I don't have to spoil MY fun by fitting a local rep.....
Stick to running missions with your myrmidon or 1v1ing frigates. Eve is about Capital ships, WiS, Boobs, PI and Isk! |

Well what I am trying to fix is that logi is overpowered, I have read lately a lot of people suggesting to nerf logi particularly carrier logi. So rather something draconian like a lot of suggestion I read that would kill logi, or kill carries this in my opinion a more balanced idea. It reduced the logi across the board but doesnGÇÖt kill it, it adds stuns to the game the counter to healing in every other MMO but it doesnGÇÖt make stuns OP. It lets fleets smash into each other and mow both sides take losses so GF can be given all around but doesnGÇÖt nerf logi out of the game. it bring back skill at the pilot level into the game. That is what my point was. |

Ok, first off, there is already a bomb that neuts in the game currently. From there, you want to give it a web and turn off all mods? By neuting someone out you are already turning off their mods that require cap, so from your suggestion, the turning off all mods part is pointless because without cap, there are no reps. But to add webs to that, would be very OP, even if we were to add these anti bomb missiles, which would just nerf stealthbombers. Lowering the average to make you look better since 2012. |

I don't know the rules about linking other web sites so I'm not going to, but if you use google I am sure you will find somthing on your own. but yes, surprise surprise you will find articles of two supper blobs with apex forces are dominating null and stagnating the game. |

I read RR and that was it, we got like a dozen posts on the first 3 pages and though some might have a hint of a point here and there it is not really worth spamming the forum with yet another repost.
RR work as intended, I rather support some meta module changes for more variety.
And besides that we have Neuts, Vamps and Target breaker and Void bombs... You suggesting them makes me think you don't even know what you are talking about.

As far as searching is concerned, maybe if you had done some before posting, you'd have noticed this isn't the first on this subject and they get locked.

TBH, about the only "broken" thing with logi is that you can cap-chain them indefinitely (not that I'm complaining about it).
However, CCP even looking into this is should be low priority, and not even thought about until after POS, Corporations, and SOV (among other things) are fixed. One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |
