Recently while doing some industry stuff, I noticed my screen seemed to stutter for a few sec while processing some jobs in the wonderful new industry screen. Naturally I opened up the frame rate monitor to see what was going on, sure enough, I open the industry screen, framerate goes from 60 to 15 for a sec or two, then back up to 50's, up and down between 40 and 60 while clicking on items/jobs, and then tanking hard again when clicking to start a job or deliver a job, getting as low as 10 or less.
Seems to me that industry should not be more taxing to my system than pew pew, or maybe I just have the wrong idea about how things should work?
The issue confused me more when my brother said something about his frame rate on his PC while I was doing the industry testing. Sure enough, when I processed a job using the industry window on my PC, his frame rate dropped to 10-15ish even if he had the industry screen minimized, yeah, that seems legit.
I have a intel 960 3.2 quad, with a gtx 480... he has a intel 2400 3.1 quad with a gtx 670... apparently these aren't sufficient specs to station sit and run industry anymore, seem excessive to anyone else?
Even in space when my system starts to get angry with too much on the screen I can at least zoom out to lessen the effect, but I can't do anything to counter this industry frame rate tanking. |

I haven't experienced the issue, but I have heard about it. Have you submitted it to CCP, or searched the tech forums? My twitch stream to help new players: http://www.twitch.tv/biohazrd51

DDR3 or GDDR5 memory on your GTX 480? That can make a difference in performance. |

I'm on a laptop playing on Low settings and I don't see this issue. Have you tried to change the graphics settings to see if the relative slowdown from the window disappears in one of the modes? "GeForce GTX 480 (Fermi) 1536MB 384-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16"... also stated it happens on my brothers gtx 670 (GeForce GTX 670 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16) when he has the window minimized and I preform an action, so its not my PC.
If I wasn't camping a war target 20 some odd jumps away from my industry stuff I would start changing settings and running jobs to see (also assumes I have slots available), the other problem being there are more settings than jobs I can run :( |

It's not lag, the thing is, actually, thinking for you. Before that we would have to make lots of things with our brain to not fail at industry.
Edit: BTW, I'm waiting for the expansion with a TRADE WINDOW telling you what/when and where to buy/sell stuff. If your balls are hurt and bleeding don't sit in a pool full of piranhas (note to myself: don't complain in GD) |

Do you mean something like this?

Could it be because you have many blueprints in the "Blueprints" tab to be shown?
Its recorded on a DELL XPS 17 laptop with Nvidia GT-555M, desktop 1080p on external monitor (not that it matters) and graphic content settings optimized for performance. The EVE client is set on "fixed window" with interval "immediate". |

When I restart jobs through the blueprints tab there is only a slight bit of lag, I am not sure if it is CPU based or just server ping delay but it is small enough that I do not find it to hamper the experience.
However when I tried restarting jobs through the job history section, on a dedicated core, it will spike that core to 100% for about 5 to 8 seconds before completing the restart. Through that method the industry UI is almost unplayable as the lag to the system is unbearable. |

For some time now, I have suspected that particular interface of being heavily CPU bound. Could be wrong, that just seems like CPU lag to me. "Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

Post full system spec? So we can verify if it's really a hardware issue. Also post your PSU details if you know it. |

I also want to clarify, this is for starting jobs, not delivering, I guess I got caught up when typing everything. I only have 1 monitor so catching the CPU activity while running jobs will be tricky as going back and forth from desktop to in game changes the strain on the system. But regardless, its interesting that if he has the frame rate monitor open on his client with the industry window minimized that he sees the drop when I start a new job (and the other way around too). |

I've also experienced a big delay in slotting blueprints into the industry window. The length of the delay makes me think it's a UI issue and not a hardware one. Sometimes I can double-click, right-click>use, or drag and drop multiple prints until one finally shows up in the window. |
