If i activate weapons and mods while targetting someone, will they fire in the order I activate?
Ie: If I had say... a Target Painter, a couple EM ammo guns in group 1, and a couple Plasma guns in group 2, and i clicked each one in that order while waiting for a target lock, would it activate the painter before the guns fired? and would it apply the EM damage from the first group (hopefully knocking out shields) then apply the Plasma group?
Just not sure if i should be waiting for the target lock and the painter to start, then click the guns in sequence, but that would cost a second or 2, which is a lot when camping a gate.

As to your question, I have no clue (not unusual), but I hope someone can answer.

1. Don't mix guns and ammo. 2. They would all fire at once. GÇ£If you're not willing to fight for what you have in GëívGëí you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.GÇ¥

Yeah, I don't know the answer, but logic would dictate they would not build an order of execution into the code as that would create a considerably higher amount of data to be processed and would be difficult to scale efficiently. I dont mix guns, but I do mix ammo, since a few shots of EM from my BS will often knock out the shields on a cruiser, and id rather apply something other than EM to the armor.
If it does all fire at once though, would the target painter signature affect apply to the shot? |

Tippia wrote:2. They would all fire at once. So the code presumably calculates all effects in a tick before calculating the damage from the weapons and then each hit ship deals separately with reducing effects (eg. resists)?
Makes sense and then the order of activating won't make any difference as long as it's all within the time to gain target lock. Come Win At Eve - Join The Vendunari

There has to be some order, for example if you overuse your capacitor then not all of the modules can activate. |

The answer will have something to do with the way EVE sets up the one second ticks. |

Can you prove that?
Same targets. Two different weapon groups. One group with only one damage type. The other group with 2 (or more) damage types.
Which weapon group is best? Once upon a time the Golem had a Raven hull and it looked good. Then it transformed into a plataduck. The end. |

Obviously this doesn't go to well for turrets (diff range for exm). But missiles .... unless you have the perfect damage/hp amounts then at some point EM is being applied to armor or therm to shield. No matter what you're still losing some damage but it varies. honestly if i was splitting ammo I would go EM and Explo to get the nice spread but its up to him and his weird split ammo fetish. |

Someone is (1) seriously overthinking their missioning and (2) might not be really skilled enough to waste the NPC really really fast. ^^ Delicious goon ((tech nerf, siphon, drone assist, supercap)) tears.

So you go for instapop I believe,
Then all fire at once and you are in the mercy of the server tick.
if you go with srcam/disrupt then it is better to get the modules in your high slot positions and assign key bindings 123456 etc to apply the damage the way you want.
e.g. first slot scram/disrutp you have it always pre activated 1. scram 2. painter 3. EM projectile 4. EXP projectile
in the med rank put your sensor scanners or move them to the low rack so you don't click them and turn them off. |

Thanks It will activate them all.
You are gate camping. You want the target to be dead before it crashes the gate. Depending on what you are using and it's setup. My next question would be "Why are you using a target painter?" Use tracking computer(s) with tracking speed scripts. You should not need a target painter unless you are using large guns, a missile boat or you are planning on gate camping with a blapdread. Load ammo best suited to what is landing on the gate before it jumps into you. So, using Dscan with the scout/alt on the other side would help benefit this. If you are using a HIC, make sure it has sebos to catch 95% of the stuff that will come through. A webber is a nice thing to have as well. Next, run a logi or two so you can tank the gate guns and run a full gank fit.
PS: Mail me in game of the location you are camping if you are using a blap dread please.

My speculation is:
1. The info on gun activation and TP activation is sent to the server together
2. Probably the server calculates all stuff that can impact damage (thus the painter, but also for example any hardeners that have been activated) before actually applying damage. Why? No idea, it just makes sense to me
So TP would be effective. Blap away, OP!
EDIT: on the other hand, I see no reason for the server to apply EM before Plasma EVE Online: Death-o-meter |
