The bogus GÇ£churchGÇ¥ of Naplius is neither Amarrian nor a faith at all. It is a mob of despicable traitors, a manipulative group of lowest moral and social standing. To believe the Empire or the Kingdom are in schism with the Sani Sabik and the Blood Raider Convenant is to believe that gold and dirt are in schism. They have nothing in common.
And a friendly note to every non-Amarr juggling with GÇ£schismGÇ¥, GÇ£heresyGÇ¥ and so on: While it is difficult to understand the deeper layers of Amarrian culture and religion, an analogy might help to clarify some aspects of the question at stake: The Blood Raider Convenant and its offshoots is nothing but a criminal organisation, its empty rituals might impress outsiders and give it religious appearance, but all this is nothing but pretence for power-hungry, desperate psychotics. ItGÇÖs business. ThatGÇÖs all. Book of Prayers GÇö GalNet Profile GÇö Viva la Legion! GÇö Laudetur Khanid! |

Odelya d'Hanguest wrote:In the Name of the Lord O Faithful! While the the schismatic nature of the current state of the Amarr Empire is evident, an important question remains: What if there was no emperor? Can Amarrians be faithful and not obey the commands of their emperor?
There was an extended interregnum not so long ago when most Amarrians remained loyal to the Empire and faithful to God despite the activities of Karsoth
Quote:It is known that the treacherous Theology Council has corrupted and falsified the Scriptures, supplanting eternal truths with temporal ambitions.
I don't think that I've ever seen a more factually inaccurate statement.
Quote: In the Code of Demeanor, which talks about the nature of God and society, we read today: The Wrath of God is Immense. His Justice is Swift and Decisive. His Tolerance is Limited. Be Careful. Pure Thought is the Instigator of Sin. Be Watchful. Free Thought is the Begetter of Disorder. Be Respectful. Uniform Thought is the Way of Life. The Mercy of our Emperor is Limitless. His Rule is Benign and Righteous. His Love is Perpetual. In the original writing, that we find preserved in the monasteries of the Order of St. Tetrimon, we read however: The Mercy of our God is Limitless. His Rule is Benign and Righteous. His Love is Perpetual. The truth cannot be hidden.
While it cannot be denied that the moral reforms did supplant the LordGÇÖs name and placed the emperorGÇÖs in his stead, altering and perverting the divine order of things, the truthful scriptures, our tradition and our history, leave not a shred of a doubt that faithful cannot engage in the promotion of virtue and prevention of vice without the emperor leading the empire, which in theory and practice has always been and will always be the embodiment of all what is good and just: The great Amarr Empire was founded to cultivate the spirit of man. To do so the enemies of the outside had to be defeated and the enemies of the inside controlled. The Lord gave our Emperor the power to harness the Good and punish the Evil. The second letter of St. Junip of Aerui speaks: We can not fail, for we have the Emperor to lead us and destiny to follow. And the Book of the Reclaiming stated that: As Garrulor rules the skies; as Frisceas rules the sea; As Emperor rules Holder; as Holder rules Serf; Yet all under Heaven serve Me; So shall Amarr rule the worlds of the Heavens.
But is is also impossible that a heretic be the emperor: When Heideran V assumed power, he was legitimately and rightfully elected by the Council of Apostles. His heresy, the so called GÇ£moral reformsGÇ¥, not only lead to civil war, but resulted in the destruction of the sacred order. While the empire lapsed into chaos, Heideran V ceased to be a legitimate emperor and became a false one. However he was not an usurper, he was rightfully elected. How is that possible? Like all the false emperors that followed Heideran V a simple principle applies: Their succession is merely material, that is, they occupy the place, but have no jurisdiction to rule the faithful. They cannot have jurisdiction, since it must derive from the sacred order of things, which they reject. I contrast this material succession with formal succession, which is to occupy the position of authority and to have jurisdiction at the same time. This might sound tricky, but it isnGÇÖt: A murderer is still a murderer even if he is not found guilty. And an innocent person is not guilty although he might be considered guilty before the law.
How are the faithful to deal with this circumstance? We do not owe obedience to the false empress. Although she is the material successor of the emperors of our great past, she holds no jurisdiction. To her we owe only recognition; to him who is truly a ruler, we owe obedience. If she were to confess her sins and reinstate the divine order of things, we were to owe her obedience too. But obedience to schismatics constitutes schism itself.
You're welcome to commit treason and claim that Empress Jamyl doesn't have a legitimate claim to the throne. But if that is true, then it logically follows that Khanid also does not have a legitimate claim to the throne.
Quote:Yet all under Heaven serve the Lord. All Amarr, even those holding the schismatic judgement that the false empress is fully legitimate, share a small portion of the eternal truths of faith. While they serve the schismatic, they also serve the Lord. When I was waring against schismatics in the past I did so in good faith. Today I know my efforts were justified and pleased the Lord. But henceforth I will embrace them as what they are, brothers and sisters in the Lord, impaired and schismatic, but brothers and sisters. Together we can overcome the schism which a hurts the souls of every true Amarrian. For it is justified and pleases the Lord. Amen.
Insulting core beliefs of people is strange way to embrace them as brothers and sisters.

If you read my theological opinion on material and formal succession carefully, you will find out that His Majesty King Khanid II does not fall into the same category. He has reinstated an order that is closest to the status quo ante of the Empire, without the corrupting influence of the Theology Council; he opened the gates of the Kingdom for the guardians of scriptural truth, the most noble Order of St. Tetrimon; thus, by deed and creed, His Majesty is fully legitimate.
When storms the proud to terrors doom, He forms the dark majestic scene, He rolls the thunder through the gloom, And on the whirlwind rides serene.
Likewise Sarum would become the legitimate empress if she renounced her errors and reinstated the divine order of things for which she has the material power. She is in material succession of the Amarrian emperors and is the only one who has the potential to acquire formal legitimacy as well.

Not the first time I've heard that one... Different rules apply to people who act differently. Like those who are able to read and those who are not. While the first are called literates, the latter are called analphabets. For GodGÇÖs sake, is it so hard? Book of Prayers GÇö GalNet Profile GÇö Viva la Legion! GÇö Laudetur Khanid! |

Where I'm from the word would actually be "illiterate".
Besides, that's not a coherent point. Different behaviour doesn't equal an exemption from the rules, it may simply mean the difference between conformity and nonconformity to those rules. You either meet the criteria to be considered literate, or you do not - those criteria remain the same regardless of whether or not a person matches them. Respectfully, Stitcher, precision.
Both analphabet and illterate could apply but one only precisely applies as illiterate has multiple meanings. *looks down at his dictionary, "Hedion's Unabridged"*
For example, "I am an illiterate, having been poorly schooled and lack the genteel culture of my betters, but i am not an analphabet as I am able to read"
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/analphabet http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/illiterate
In a debate over words, like scripture, precision is important!

Verin did say "Where I come from." and he's right. Illiterate is the word that would be used in the State. Where we come from I believe you'd get your ass kicked if you swanned about using words like 'analphabet'. "You let one of them go, but that's nothing new is it? Every now and then a little victim is allowed to escape; because she smiled, because he's got freckles, because they begged. And that's how you live with yourself. That's how you slaughter millions." if you want to be completely precise...
"Are they neutral to us?" "Da suu isoyet kinari hido?" "O++dôñ8¥Ç 8ñædª+"
I'm going to guess that you're literate in the first (seeing as it was run through the translater), illiterate in the second, and analphabetic in the third.
All of which just further illustrates that being one thing but not the other doesn't mean the rules don't apply, it means that the rules have sorted you into different categories. An in-character blog and a video: http://verinsjournal.blogspot.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tu1mbsgo738
