Been away from the game for a long time, and the Crius changes brought me back, so I'm really excited about getting involved in industry seriously. The problem for me is capital and skills. The last time I played EVE for any length of time, FW wasn't released yet so a TON of things have changed and I'm trying to take it all in.
Regarding manufacturing, is 2 billion a decent amount of capital to get started? And what about skills? It seems like I need a heavy skill investment to be able to produce anything worthwhile. Tech2 production is out of the question for at least a few months, so now I'm stuck trying to figure out with the advent of Tech3 now if it's even worth trying to produce Tech1 items, is tech2 seems like it might be held in the same regard that tech1 was when I last played, especially because I have no clue what kind of tech1 items are even being used anymore, if at all.
So I'm seeking some advice, or at least a nudge in the right direction to get my head around all the changes and start attempting to get involved in industry. |

1. Industry tutorial 2. Examine market to see what moves in your area of interest 3. Look into how to exploit that: blueprint copies, manufacturing, invention, etc. 4. ?? "Blow it all on Quafe and strippers." --- Sorlac |

2 bil is enough.
Don't worry about T3's. That's cruiser size ship only and no mods.
Start with small stuff and work up.

I remember I started with 10M, right after I started playing EVE.
Six months later I started making T2 frigates. Another 4 months passed till I set up my POS and bought my first freighter.
So i think the real problem is not whether 2B is enough. The real problem is whether you know how to find a profitable product. |

With that level of capital I'd start with fuel block BPOs and use that to grow my business. It's as perfect a fit as there is at the moment. Hyperdrive your production business: Eve Production Manager |
