I am just about to start training for mining barges and I need to train most of the skills. There are a lot ofskills I need and I don't know which ones I should use for implants or what remap would assist me best. |

The skill queue for mining barges requires mostly memory and intelligence attributes, so those would be the primary implants you require. If you haven't already done so I'd recommend downloading EveMon to help you with skill plans, it has a remap calculator built in.
It's only about 9 days to get mining barge lvl 1 or 13 days to lvl 4 with no remap or implants for a brand new character, so it may not be worthwhile wasting a remap for it.
You'll need (approx times) Mining Frigate 3 (9 hours) * Industry 5 (6 days) * Mining 4 (1 day, you start with mining lvl 2 on a brand new character IIRC) * Science 4 (21 hours, you start with science lvl 3 on a brand new character IIRC) * Astrogeology 3 (13 hours) * Mining Barge (33 minutes to lvl 1, 4 days 5 hours to lvl 4)
There's obviously extra skills for refining, shield and drone skills are also a good idea to have, the above is the absolute bare minimum you'll need to fly a barge.
*Prerequisite skills Never hold your farts in. They travel up your spine and into the brain, where they ferment. They then migrate to your keyboard via your fingers. That's where shiptoasts come from.

Keep in mind, those are the very very bare skills.
Besides that, you will need core and support skills too. Personal channel: Crazy Dutch Guy

lol I was editing to reflect that as you posted Never hold your farts in. They travel up your spine and into the brain, where they ferment. They then migrate to your keyboard via your fingers. That's where shiptoasts come from.

I tend to be a min/max trainer and I'm willing to leave a character in station training for a few months to save some training time.
What I do for a mining character is train cyberneteics to 4 first and drop in implants. Then train only the non ship prerequisite skills needed for Exhumer. Once done, remap to per/will and train all the ship skills to get to Exhumer 5 Then remap to int/mem and start training the rest.
I do int/mem in this order. T1 strip miners, basic shield buffer, basic core skills, basic targeting, T2 light Minmatar or Gallente drones, all rank one ore processing, T1 rigs (shield), basic navigation (agility), T2 strips, T2 shield, higher ranked processing.
This will give you a pilot that can fit an Exhumer with decent yield but with a good buffer tank for those pesky gankers. You'll still have a charisma remap if you decide to go into Orca or Rorqual.

Do not remap just to train mining barges. However, if you are going to specialize in mining and eventually train up to exhumers then mem/int are important skills.
Download EVEmon and make yourself a skill plan. |

Example: this character started as a miner, and has had this mapping for over 4 years, and counting. It is a compromise, but does allow one to be flexible in training. |

My question regarding solo mining is
What implants can i get that will aid in yield or ease of mining?
I have seen harvest implants but the only ones available are low-grades which are useless as I need to get my attributes
raised as well....
Have the high-grades become extinct or obsolete to some new implant set that I cant find? (and trust me, I have been searching)
Appreciate all the help any of you can give. |

Appreciate all the help any of you can give. In my opinion, the only mining yield implant worth a damn is the Mining Foreman Mindlink on a fleet booster. However, you may want a 4% RX-804 Reprocessing implant.
If you mine AFK, there is no point in using expensive implants either. They just make your pod a juicy killmail.
I personally use high-quality defensive and capacitor implants, and I don't AFK mine.

Yeah i never AFK mine. Prefer not to be a target. I mine when im on my main running incursions or pvp-ing. Im still 145 days out on industry training being (relatively) "done".. so im just trying to stockpile ores right now. guess i could go with +4 / warp speed implants or perhaps+4 / shield boost implants.. meh.... idk. Thanks though |
