The ducal articles of jurisprudence give every individual the the right to refuse to answer questions, but such refusal may be construed as a sign of guilt. I find Mr AracturusGÇÖ interjections most intriguing. While posthumous trials are a valued tradition and proper legal method in the Duchy of Palas, never has it occurred that a capsuleer was objected to this procedure. The ducal articles of jurisprudence do not differentiate between human and trans-human. While I reject Mr AracturusGÇÖ proposal to defend the heretic in absentia, because no defendant is needed at the trial, I encourage everyone to rebut his theses and to prove that this cadaver can be held accountable. The corpse is not a mere vessel for the soul, for it cannot act without it in this world. NaupliusGÇÖ body acted, neurologically transferring to the capsule and ship the commands that resulted in the death of more than 100.000 slaves.
Since when are you the judge, madam duchess? I call for an impartial arbitrator!

Stormcrows at least are doing well, thanks to that pod. I hope you're not referring to my loss of a Comet in that statement, Ms Kernher? It's not as clear cut as it looks, there. Backup got waylaid en-route. I also made some very stupid mistakes, I'm willing to admit that. I'm out of practice. I treated Nauplius like any other militia member who usually rabbit at the first whiff of trouble. Lessons learned.
I was not referring to yours, Mr. Gord. |

Mr Aracturus, this isnGÇÖt a Gallente law series like GÇ£Luminaire Legal,GÇ¥ of course I am the judge. I also start to doubt your seriousness in this matter. If it is a show trial you are after, you are free to make up one yourself, but not in the Duchy of Palas.

Can we take a moment to commend the Duchess for actually coming through on her word, as promised, with an absolute minimum of fuss and delay?
It's nice to see a threat made in here actually carried through and I applaud her in her selection of 'executors' in this case. "You let one of them go, but that's nothing new is it? Every now and then a little victim is allowed to escape; because she smiled, because he's got freckles, because they begged. And that's how you live with yourself. That's how you slaughter millions." Madam Duchess, I'm Appalled. The Courts are Sacred amongst the Caldari, and making a mockery of them, as you are doing now, is Greatly Dishonorable.
In all seriousness, putting a corpse on trial is like trying to hunt a dead bird - it speaks very poorly of your duchy that you would bother wasting valuable resources on convicting a corpse of heresy. It's not cute, nor is it particularly funny. If this is the sort of thing The State can expect from it's allies in the Empire, then this does not bode well. I'm merely giving your "trial" the seriousness it deserves - which is to say, none.
Focus more on important things.
You got a big win by having your bounty on Naupilius' corpse claimed, keep going. Get some momentum going rather than stopping to pat yourself on the back. If you REALLY want to make a statement, start going after his assets and income sources. Or expand the bounty.
But most importantly, bury the goddamn corpse. You know who keeps corpses as trophies? People like me. Goons. I keep all my corpses in a large warehouse in VFK, sorted by name, kill date, and market value.
Think about that for a moment. Do you REALLY want to be compared to me?
I advise you give a great deal of thought to this.
Also, remember that the truly powerful speak not through words, but with actions. Long winded speeches and endless posts in the IGS are the tools of the weak and the foolhardy. Those who require a pat on the back to feel as though they are important.
Have a pleasant day, and may the Winds guide you. This is now a WIDOT thread! |

I had come to spending time organising all my tools and spare parts in a similar manner. I should follow your example and do the same with corpses.

You know there's a political action known as conducting the propaganda of the deed. Where one uses an act of violence as the means to provoke ideological discussion. One might then say that the act of violence is simply the means to achieve the end of public exposure. |
